Default Heathcote Test and Tune Sunday 6th August!

Anyone interested in coming up, i'll be racing the XR6 and Kenaz may be racing his EL Ghia v8 if I can talk him into it. Conditions should be great for racing the weather is predicted for Sunday 1°C - 16°C Frost then sunny. Be good to get a base run before the FFAU nationals and E-Series V R31 drag days, as I have quite a few changes planned before than. Hoping for a flat 15 high 14 as is now.

I'll be leaving around 8:30-9am so anyone interested in coming up from eastern suburbs let me know and we can cruise up together, or if someone just wants to come up to watch I have atleast 3 seats maybe 4 free in my car, save wasting your fuel.

Got back an hour ago, was a great day the weather was perfect and it was sunny up there! Saw 2 cars drop there tailshafts in the first half hour lol.

Anyway I got about 10 runs in and came away with a best of 15.353 @ 92.4 mph and a pittifull 2.3 60 ft time. On that run i took off with 1500 revs spun up backed of slightly, smashed second and got wheel spin again and a bit tail happy, backed off again then went for it again. Through out the whole day I couldn't get a combination right. I'd either spin first off the line and shoot to 5500 rpm or grab second and spin. It was getting very frustrating.

Had about 10 runs all up, the majority were around 15.4 @91-93 mph and a few disgracefull high 15's. The tyres I was running on were 205/65/r15's with different tread on both sides which wouldn't have helped. The next step if to give the car a good once over, Oil all the filters, plugs and leads etc and borrow my brothers good tyres as he went great today, then get back out there. Should see a 14.7-14.9 if I can get my damn 60 foot times down. My best was a 2.29 and worst of 2.5

Anyways I had a wicked day if somewhat dissapointing, but that just gives me heaps more to improve on.
Here are some pics from the day, might post the vids up later.

I got home this morning at 7am after 36 hours of driving so wasnt up for it.

That 14 is there for the taking with some traction.

I had a great day! I couldn't be happier with how the car went. I absolutely smashed my previous PB.

Here's a run down of my best run.

60ft
2.15

ET
14.82

MPH
91.63

I thought it may have been a fluke, but I backed it up with a 14.9 and two 15.0s. The car felt awesome on the strip today, it launched really well and the 15" G'Grids gave me heaps of grip.

congrats on the times, deffinately some potential from yours damo, same MPH as ash's but with your gearing you should be able to manage atleast a 14.8 if not better.

That's fantastic boys. The EF and EL look a treat

You must be stoked Ash - you better be holding onto the Ghia now.

By the way, I would've joined you fellas but I had to work the whole day :

It was a really good day, just after lunch I got to line Damo up in the other lane. I ran 15.00 and he did 15.41 at near identical mph. If Damo had some traction it would've been very close.
