Hey guys,
Just wondering what you guys pay for the AU Metal head gasket for the I6. Ford seem to be the only ones who have the metal version, and they are asking $90 for the thing. Simon |

that's about right for RRP.
I paid about 60something trade price. Ford are the only ones who have the steel one, all other places just have the normal one. |

well ide assume the amount of complaints they get bout headgaskets warrents the design of something better ? :P

Looks like I'll hve to pay the RRP.
Did you guys use any additional sealers with the metal gasket? I am not a fan of putting anything on the surfaces, but a few people i speak to keep suggesting it. |

Do not use any additional sealant.
You can dab a poofteenth of silicon where the timing cover joins the block though, but no where else. Rick.

Bursons Stock the metal gaskets, ateast they did last timei visited and asked.

bursons will only have acl spacer plates these arnt gaskets.........
I BEGGED MY ford dealer and got it for 45 bucks with no other gaskets |

I went past yesterday. There are two guys that work at this particular dealer. One young guy who is normally pretty cool and probably would have given a discount, but I got the other stooge who thinks its his duty to uphold the ford spare parts pricing laws.
I didn't bother asking for a discount. $90 and they dont even include the timing case seal. I didn't realise till I got home, so its another trip this afternoon. I won't be adding any additional sealer. I have never in the past, was just a bit unsure with the metal gasket. Thanks for the input guys. |

you should up just a tiny bit between the timing case seal and the head gasket
