Who told you that Luke? If Ford can attribute a failure to a non genuine part eg. with a K&N the oil can get into the air flow meter and stuff it, then they won't honour any warranty claim. Having said that, I've used them for many years and never had a problem. _2: Just don't go overboard on the oil when you clean them.

Sorry, I wasn't saying there was one on a Fiesta- it was just an example of a failure that has been attributed to an oiled filter. A warning to be careful.

Thanks for the tips guys, my local ford dealer gave me that information. but they do charge extra to service the K&N filter every 40,000kms or so..

$97!! I'd shop around. Didn't know about warranty if Ford fitted it, did it myself in half an hour. About 10 screws holding the airbox together. I've got the sticker on the airbox & it wasn't mentioned at the 3000km service.

Luke mate, you have to trust me on one thing. Get yourself a BMC air Filter, They are proven to be worlds above K&N and are a fraction cheaper, theres many guys on the forums here who swear by em. I've had them on all my cars, and they are absolutely FANTASTIC.
