We looked at going to Daydream for our honeymoon last year but it was cheaper to go to Fiji. So Fiji we went and it was fantastic.

Looks good... I haven't been there, but I have been to Long Island, Hamilton Island & Hayman Island. Whitsundays islands can be expensive, so do your homework. Hamilton is a bit of a mini Gold Coast, but at least it has bottleshops, yacht club and plenty of restaurants. With some Island resorts, unless you cart your grog and snacks in with you, you will pay top dollar for them.

Just remember that on an Island you're trapped and have to pay their price for all food, drink and transfers to and from the mainland.
Unless it's included in a package deal.
