Default Best Head

well im looking for betterproformance out of my motor, its a 3.9 mpefi, had lukey extractors, k&n pod, crow cam, 300kpa fuel reg, EL rocker arm and cover, injectors, soon to be manual once i get it in but now im looking at upgrading the head from the crappy 3.9 as i hear the 4.0 is alot better, what should i go for

EB-ED tickford 9.1
or
EF gli 9.3

the ef has a higher compretion but i assume the tickfords got better flow, whats the best to go for or should i still get one fully ported and polished and shaved

I'd go 94DA if your going to port it... It'd be a waste of $$$ if you were to port a 'T' head... as they have smaller chambers but yet larger valves!

perhaps a EB head if your wanting lower compression...

krytox 'T' heads are no different to non t head, only CAM! au heads = smaller valves IIRC
the best head is free head!

T heads have
diffrent exhaust valves.
diffrent exhaust valve seats
uprated valve springs
raised compression 9.35 vs 9.30 (on EF/L modles)

The AU head has larger exhaust valves than non tickford EA-L, however smaller ports.

Um... so not true.. Have a look at the Exhaust port shape of a eseries tickford head its a D shape, has a flat port floor, non t head has usual round port .. Also alot of the meat around the guide is removed in a t cast head..

But **** paying for one
