Sorry I wasn't able to put on a bit more of a show on Saturday, being a bit off my best for some reason. 14.7's not what I was expecting. :

But still, I can tell you, you will have a tough car if you can get those low 15's and as you're dealing with Chris, they wont be too far away.

Should be heading back out to Calder fairly soon - (hopefully for some more 14.2's or better) you might find it worthwhile to come out yourself. Traction tends to be a lot better there.

Cheers :

Mate, even 14.7's was awesome to watch! I was loving it either way. I was thinking about even going down to Calder tonight for a run while its still in my system! :P the only thing thats holding me back is that the are not as accommodating as the folk up at Heathcote. I am not a racer by any stretch, so i dont have a helmet or anything like that. But if Chris and you guys are heading down, i would love to come and have a look anyway! Thanks for the encouragement!

That sounds awesome, thanks heaps Craig! What time do you usually get there? Is there a time limit for scrutineering or anything? Its just that i dont finish work till 5:30pm and might be a bit late. Also, does my friend need to pay if he wants to come in with me?

ED Futura 1451kgs (Man)
AU XR6 1455kgs (Man)

not much weight difference between the manuals and auto AU.

auto ed's are much heavier.

Terry as long as you enjoy the car is what really counts. Sure you ran a 14.2 and 14.7 on that day..but it means nothing.Put a smile on your face and be happy. You Chris and Craig have done some marvellous work on the car and is a credit to you blokes. Next time I reckon youll be pulling 13's anyway.

Thanks Stav,
don't get me wrong, I still had a great day - made it into the finals for the first time ever - but just a bit mystified about the times as we hadn't changed anything. Obviously we just had everything together on the last couple of nights at Calder - cool air, traction, no wind etc.

And just for the record guys, the Factory literature lists an AU III XR6 HP Manual Sedan at 1530 kg. Auto is 20kg heavier and VCT is heavier again.
An AU II XR6 Manual Ute weighs 1670kg, so don't believe that misconception about utes being lighter.
Stavs weight sounds right for a wagon, being the same wheelbase as the Ute.

just got back from the tip ,my au spack 5spd weighed 1660kgs with me in it.
i way 90kg's(fat ****)
it had a bit over half a tank of juice say 40L ,32kg
the boys car seat and some crap in the boot,20 kg tops
so my au would way around the stated 1530 kg mark on its own, give or take a few kg's.
