I'd assume that the engine would be worth most of that. It's a highly worked 347 stroker.

yeah i should of told you a fair bit more about it hey...

its a reasonably modded motor..

everything in the motor is new

Block
crank
rods
pistons
all new bearings
new gaskets
arp head studs
alloy heads
edlebrock victor intake
timing chain
new high volume oil pump
crow cam
alloy rocker covers....
etc
etc

made 240 rwkw on a safe tune with standard 24lb injectors, the injcetors ran out, hence not making anymore power..

with a new intake ( stainless, mandel with 100mm MAF ) 30-36lb injectors, should see numbers around 260-280 rwkw depending on what box is being used and how well its tuned. Made a bucket load of torque, and even with only 240 at the bags, made eay work of 19's x 245....

without trying to sound smart, i have $12 000 in receipts for the motor alone... regardsless of:

3 1/2 inch exhast
pacemakers
dba slotted discs all around
bendix ultimate pads
c10 gearbox
b & m ratchet shifter
custom tailshaft
lowered springs etc etc

of course not all of this is salvageable however the motor is still fine, which is where most of the money has been spent on this car, and pretty much everythign from the cabin forward still seems to be ok.

anyway guys i just thought i would let you all know about it, only since you weere all so nice about what had happened in the first place...

thanks again

hey guys,

just thought i would leave you all a little update, well the money came through from the insurance company, thansk to the help of tom. Even through the birth of his first child in recent times, he still managed to find enough time to help out with rectifying the ownership of the vehicle to the insurance company. Once again, Much appreciated mate.

So as it stand the wreck is now sitting on my front lawn looking for a new home, asking $9000 for the whole car, minus the front two rims and stereo. the rest you can trailer to anywhere you want do what you wish with it.

If you could be kind enough to spread the word to anyone looking to build a stroker motor, this one is already finished ( bar tuning ) and has already laid down some good power, an honest 400 odd horsies with more to come through a tune.

Anyway thanks for all your kind words,

Regards
Chris

Dude your lucky to be alive. Another couple of feet forward and you'd be screwed. An AU S1 XR8 can be picked up for under 10 grand now. Head out to the auctions and pick up another ute then drop the motor and box in. You might get something really cheap with a dead motor. Well ,that's what I'd be doing. Bad luck on the smash.
