when they did the dyno run did they hook it up for a tune? or just a power run? someone correct me if im wrong, but don't they usually hook up a wideband o2 sensor to get the AFR's and make sure they are correct?

Well i just changed the oil and the spark plugs with some NGK Iridium one's (same as what was in there) and I tell you what it is a completly different car. All the plugs were fouled up and no.5 was not even finger tight. It doesn't ping anymore and it feels like it has a shedload more power. Amazing how something so simple can make such a difference. Also I somehow got the iridium plugs for $17.99 per 4 pack, everyone else wanted $21 per plug, I have a slight feeling that supercheap stuffed up.

Only sedans actually.

Good stuff. Bit easier than cutting out the unichip, hey. You'd think the guys running the dyno should have picked up on that.

Also it pings badly high in the rev rande in first and all the way through second with the boot well and truly buried. I've tried both optimax and ultimate and still i'm having the same issues, what could be causing this? The mods to it are in my sig, as you can see I really should be getting more power than what I am.
I brought my xr8 220kw new 0000032kms, I drove it 300km's from ford dealers in Adelaide to my home town. I took it easy for the first 150k's, after that i needed to know if it was speed limted.
Took it up to 240kph,first day, first two hours.

The next day, checked it all out and i was off to to our local Dyno, to test my brand new Car.
I was shattered. 143.2kw at wheels.
Replaced K/N filter 153.6kw's at wheels, still only average.
Fitted DnT Performance X pipe, free flow exhaust.158.6kw at wheels.

Today after many good trips it has 171kw's, Thats not bad, if it was a 6pack.

That same car has and will do 256kph on the SAT-NAV,210kph in fourth, runs out of speedo at 240kph, but keeps pulling hard to5400rpms in topgear.

Scary Fast, after 250kph's

171 at the wheels is around 240 at the flywheel, or 320hp - not too shabby for a 5.0 windsor, with no real major mods.

I think it's average, considering, a mate has a BA 4.olt, with the same rwkw's....FLASH TUNE AND EXHAUST ONLY. (his flash tuner worked well)

But my XR8 would hammer the BA any day of the week, just not on the Dyno.
My car does need an upgrade on the engine management, as still factory settings and computer.

I have some mates with BAGT's, twin brothers one each, and my XR8 is gone in 1st and 2nd.. But 3rd, it just cant hold them, their 3rd seems twice as stong. Not just one run, same everytime. Then the XR starts catching from 200kph+. (They have 230-242kw's at wheels)STD

Another mate has SV8 6speed, left that for dead, standing start.

My XR8 now has 75000 very hard country km's, and only had a water pump. THATS GOOD :

When I ordered mine, you had to state you wanted 220kw motor.

They were both available.

I got the first 220kw delivered to Stillwell ford maybe even SA.

Liquid Silver, Black trim
Pedders Springs All round, from new.ORDERED
REGO XR8220, from new.
Momo wheel & shifter handle, from new.

Would Sell to right person.

Holy man sounds like the unichip has died. that power is way down on what it should b.You will b stoked when its sorted because it sounds like its a bit of a goer. So it made 175hp at the wheels? i only work in horsepower and at the tyres, not the old fashioned bhp which is at the donk not the tyres

How do I do that, just pull it out from the ECU? If I do that and it doesn't run any better can I just plug it back in?
