Personally I think the stinger was here maybe 3 or 4 years too early as those who missed or could not get a ss, turbo, hsv, fpv etc started hunting for 2nd hand, as that market of decently priced models changes that's when I think the stinger could have become more appealing here.
If I was in the market, I'd have a look at 1 no doubts, I still want to test drive 1 too admittedly.

It’s not a daily. It’s too taught and hyperactive to be a comfortable day to day proposition. I jump in it for fun factor . It’s a mind blowing thing considering it’s size and output.

If it werent for the desire to own another V8 (looking at Lexus ISF) I would go for the A45 hands down.

A “measley” stage 2 tune is on the cards. The temptation to get it into the high 11 / low 12 second bracket is beckoning. That’s the most I’ll do to it to keep it sane and preserve it.

Why not? If the driveline can handle it, I say go for it. Not many cars in that performance bracket and can still drive like a daily.

I looked at buying a 2019 model but in the end decided it wasn't quite me. They are ballistic and just from Mercedes quoted times quicker to 100 than my 2010 & 2019 C63s. And like you said in your other post they respond so well to a tune as do all AMG's. I use my 2010 as a daily for the shops and things. Apart from lowering the 2010 and fitting it with bigger and wider rims and tyres I've kept my cars stock but I do sometimes think about a tune but my laziness says they are quick enough as they are. Plus I like the way they sound out of the box and don't really want to upset that by catching the bug and start adding an aftermarket exhaust and intakes like other owners do, I can spend that money on other cars. . |

Personally I agree with you. But it seems you are assuming that Kia's can't fall into that category for their buyer's. They might even think identically as not all are cheap anymore. |

KIA could learn from their sister company and share the learnings. The market right now is hot for small to medium well designed hatches. KIA has gaps here. The Ceed GT isn’t cutting it......and the RIO nameplate well.. shame as the RIO GT looks a ripper but it’s dragging some ugly luggage with that bloodline. Building more aspirational performance models will help with trickledown to the more mainstream stuff. As it stands, the KIA portfolio is a bit lacking.

I'm also sure there are many car enthusiasts who'd love the idea of owning a Stinger, my problem isn't the badge, it's that I don't like the look of it. That's just a subjective thing and I don't knock those that see it differently. My passion for cars has changed focus over the years, I have those core models I still love as in Fords, Holden, GM & Chrysler/Dodge/Valiants from the 60's and 70's but my car taste buds have also evolved in other directions. I can remember a time when I wouldn't touch a turbo for a million dollars as I was an N/A V8 man through and through where a blower was the only forced induction I'd consider. That rejection of turbos has definitely changed and you only have to look at what Ford produced with a snail to know why and I now have two twin turbo cars and love them both. I understand value for money in cars like the Stinger but for me there is an important ingredient in the mix that always makes up the value component and that is the enjoyment I get from the vehicle. I like fast late model cars that handle well but I love old 70's stuff even though they are now well and truly off the pace but I can grab a spanner or screw driver and a really big hammer and play with them in my shed where my modern cars are just sent off to a professional to sort out for me. Car enthusiasts all have different reasons as to why they love their cars and what makes good value and value for money for me is being able to touch the car and feel as though a part of me is in there somewhere. I'm not a person who could have just one car, I'd have to have at least two, one late model car for convenience sake (preferably a performance variant) and one classic era for my kind of fun and both would have to meet certain criteria to be parked in my garage. I've owned a few AMG's, I got rid of the E63 because it was too big and it was quicker than the smaller C63 I replaced it with and I would have bought the A45 last year as it was quicker than the C63 I bought instead but the A45 was too small. The value for money for performance was in the A45 but the value for what suited me better was in the C63 and I paid extra for the value. . Last edited by Express; 07-07-2020 at 07:55 PM. You don't need to be a millionaire to own and run a euro by the way.

My FPV ownership experience wasn’t exactly cheap. Bremont brakes / rotors, Michelin tyres , O-40 oil at $90.00 with $35.00 filters. If you buckle or rash a wheel they were $1200 each from Ford. Try sourcing a front or rear FPV bar for less than 6K each complete but unpainted.... milkshaked ZF ? $$$$ Cost of repairs and maintenance gap has closed a lot between a lot marques these days. Price to pay for wanting every gizmo as an option.

I hope in the near future we see some nice aftermarket parts for stinger and the likes. Might make them a little more appealing.

Heres a service scheduling from 2018 Stinger up to 40thou clicks I found.
https://www.caradvice.com.au/585254/...ing-and-specs/ I've copied pasted the key points in discussion here below. Scheduled maintenance for both engines is required every 12 months or 10,000 kilometres - which is six months and 2500km longer than Kia's previous turbocharged service intervals. The first four visits for the 2.0-litre model are listed at $249, $434, $317 and $617 - totalling $1617. Meanwhile, the V6 is slightly pricier at $252, $436, $368 $635, totalling $1691 for the first four years or 40,000 kilometres. Now we know then to add brembo pad replacements are not 2bob just as our FPV's/Sprints and Syn oils etcetc..... My 330i bimmer has its 40k service due, its the 2.0T motor, look at Stingers 2.0l 4th service starting @ $617. Sure thats Dealer pricing, I checked with my Euro Bimmer Specialist the other day actually, charge is $380 + parts. Parts I'll supply buying genuine OES product through sources. TBH having checked this I find the KIA expensive for what it is at this stage no disrespect intended.

I can't see any problem here. A new car, 7 years warranty, avg $400 per year/10,000km servicing. Or, buy an old car, for SFA, no warranty, spend $ ???? on replacement parts, and servicing which may not have been done since Noah discovered water proofing. |

Suspected this as I stated in earlier posts regarding N division cars.
https://www.caradvice.com.au/864088/...-it-will-look/ Be interesting to see if and when this is released here how it will be received by the market.

im a fan of the i30n front bar air holes not too dissimilar to the RS. Don't mind the look of the i30n fastback either. The fastback just loses me after nil looking pumped F or R guards. That's what I loved about the VE styling especially in the HSV line.

I'd happily drive a 2020 Cerato GT sedan. Very Euro-spec and well appointed. A great looking shape. Currently can be had for ~$34k driveaway.
