The tray alone was nearly 7k tho, plus factory towbar with brake controller $1800, XLT side steps $1200 and a set of Wildtrak wheels $1200. I also added all plastics etc. It replaced a 2018 4x2 super cab which I just sold for 40k, so not too bad for at $14k change over I guess??

Would have been roughly 12k more for a 4x4 in the same guise with the Bi turbo. I just couldn't justify it or the wait.
Just an update on this, went to look at my new XL yesterday, while I was there I noticed a v6 xlt cab chassis in Silver….. undriven demo ready to go. Came home with it. 15k more than the XL, but a more basic tray.

4x2 Hi-rider manual 2.4L TD Cab Chassis workmate is $35K DA with no auto option available on website (greyed out wtf) or bigger 2.8L diesel.

4x4 Hi-rider manual 2.4L TD cab chassis workmate is $46K DA, also no auto option or the bigger 2.8L diesel.

So Ford actually offers a better povvo spec work vehicle, that comes in auto about ball park on pricing before ORCs - so there's probably only a couple thousand bucks in it and you're even getting the car sooner and its better.

Given they have better availability than the Hilux at the moment on povvo specs surely Ford can move more than the 200 of these that they do at the moment?

The only thing they don't offer is bargain basement unleaded job, but with what they have available to our market already I reckon their sales team could snag heaps more 4x2 Hilux sales - you just need to give everyone visibility over them.

Ever since this thread started i’m seeing base models more than XLT, Sport and Wildtrak. All white work vehicles.

Murphys law or something.

And that’s how selling is done, you go in with one plan and come home with a different vehicle…..

Congratulations on your new purchase.

The $69k was for an XLT Dual Cab (but cab chassis, rather than stylside) V6D so pricing is about right.

If true then that is concerning for Ford. They only have one vehicle in the top 20 selling vehicles. Putting eggs in one basket..........

Everest was just outside the 20. 6th highest selling brand, and you say that’s concerning, when they had some months towards the end of the year as no 2 and 3 highest selling brand for the month?

With no factory here to worry about sales to keep it running, there are no concerns at all. Especially with long waiting lists for much of their range. The biggest issue is getting supply to fill orders, not actually getting those orders in the first place.

Platinum already accounted for in build allocations, so it won’t effect production of Wildtrak etc. If anything, the number of Wildtrak orders being switched to Platinum will probably reduce the Wildtrak waiting list, even more so now that production of v6’s and premium pack parts is increasing. Hopefully that means i will get my Wildtrak sooner. Just got my NSC number today.

With platinum coming on line, and another additional model coming, i’m sure the build numbers of XL/XLS will be decreasing at the same rate. Which will better balance the build mix.

Good to hear that Ford knows what the bulk of its customers want is now a V6 in whatever trim…

What I find interesting is that people keep mentioning how Ford only really has two vehicles that sell and eggs in one basket etc
What about Isuzu? No one mentions them?
What about Honda?
Subaru?
Nissan?

It’s just a dumb statement to make. There are so many brands that only have a couple of vehicles in their range, and they only sell in the hundreds. But Ford having a vehicle that has been no 1 seller in 2 of the past 3 months, and order books going out to 12 months on a lot of models is somehow a worry. It makes zero sense.

And, some “no body” in SA, will say it is an issue (that’ll happen monthly) same, same.

I have a friend who has picked up a new Raptor, he says it’s the best vehicle he has ever had (he updates his vehicle regularly).

But i have a body, oh, you meant nobody.

Those other brands have never been big players, Ford on the other hand have fallen from grace, replaced by the enemy of the 2nd World War and some Koreans.

They probably don't need to sell cars when they are the highest selling truck brand in Oz.

I think Isuzu Ute and Isuzu truck are two completely separate corporate entities.

But yes you are right Isuzu has been leading the truck sales in their segments for the past 30+ years.

Now they are. Isuzu were aligned with General Motor Holden once here which sold the cars alongside the trucks formerly Bedford Isuzu.

Not as slow as the Super Moderator that bans someone using a thread they edited and thanked to do so with..lol

I posted a thread advertising AMC magazines without pics ages ago and had Gaso move it to the collectibles section which he then thanked my post in.

He then used it to give me enough points for a ban..lol

And then just admitted he stuffed up and couldnt even ban me with it...Super Moderator..lol
