Because theyre rarely all owned by the same company, and would mean one big bill every three months or so....

Polishing makes it shine and protects it from tarnishing and oxidation., gives that extra lustre look.
Polishing also creates a protective layer that helps keep it clean and prevents scratches.

I go to buy 2 front tyres for the Smart car as the ones on it are 11 years old & cracked, 155/50/R15, get a price of over $250 per tyre and only 2 manufacturers, seeing that the Smartie has staggered tyres, I went for the next size up on the front and the same with the rear, so a full set fitted and balanced for $380.

Gumption works better..... im joking

Well, the dodgey thing, one of them atleast, the boat place i did work experience at in year 10 was, a used fibreglass boat with a white hull thats all scratched up, gumption it. The buyer buys it because it 'looks' good, but 1st time they put it in the water the gumption disolves and it goes back to being a scraped up marked up boat.

Don't see a problem with gumption cleaner if applied correctly, works like a mild cutting agent, a good rinse off and polish would have been beneficial.

To be honest, sound like the gelcoat was worn though on the boat.

Non gel coated boats. Older ones. I was the work experience kid. It was to hide the deep scratches that exposed the fibreglass, so it was white, just dodgey using that as a filler as opposed to sanding, actual filler and paint. It was a fleece, 2nd hand boat, 7 day warrenty banking on the fact they didn't sell any of the required safety stuff making that a thing for the new owner to go elswhere to buy and hopefully in over a week. That place shut up shop many years ago, clearly dodgey practices was the main reason. There was also what they'd do with the auction purchased ex maritime or water police outboards. Thats only a story if anyone cares.

I cant seem to find anything saying that Mr Sheen has any abrasive properties, so whilst not any kind of polish, it does contain waxes, silicone & solvents, so it would appear to work well as a cleaning agent as well as being a tarnish/oxidation preventative.
Interestingly, apparently Mr Sheen is also good on stainless steel!

2: WHY is it that so many people with absolutey no experience whinge so damn much thinking theyre getting "ripped off" by tradespeople just because Tracey Grims***, ACA, Today tonight and their ilk, combined with paid "professionals" and clowns like cadogan. Its like the guys who write warranty labour times...... Of course it takes 45 minutes to replace the main bearings in a V12 Ferrari.... without disassembling the car....

3: WHY is it, that people think its perfectly acceptable to cut through servo forecourts to avoid red lights?

Why is it today is recognising domestic violence and protecting women, and here in Perth a woman has been charged with manslaughter for running over her partner after a dispute. Ironic really.

It certainly doesn't have any abrasive polishing ability, so you are not really "polishing" anything with it. The waxes and silicone do help fill and mask imperfections. Same concept to a "cleaner wax" or glaze on car paintwork, they add gloss and slickness while filling in imperfections, however the result is short lived as they wash off over time.

That's not to say its not worth doing or that it doesn't work, rather that you aren't actually polishing anything with those products.

You can guarantee those same people would get offended if you questioned their hourly rate. This is something that has always annoyed me, as in people thinking they are getting ripped off by a tradesman. At the end of the day, if they think it's so easy and not worth $XYZ per hour, they why don't they do it themselves? Just because you get charged a certain amount, that doesn't mean the tradie earns that amount. Nor does it account for years of training, general running costs, tools and equipment, book keeping................... I struggle to understand why many people can't seem to grasp that concept.

While its undoubtably an important issue, I absolutely detest how this paints all men as aggressive wife beaters.

for the first time in my life I have a boss who IS DA MAN..
tell me yesterday morning that he's done. Over it, walking out the door on the 10th of Jan 2025 for good.

Man that REALLY sucks a r s e.
I sure hope that the replacement isn't the young whipper snapper that's been 'trying' to learn my bosses job when he was on work cover. Major pain in my ring piece.

For example:
My boss never calls me unless it's to pick something up or enquire as to where I am because a customer is stressing about where his / her delivery is. Fair enough to, as my truck is not tracked... by my sub contracted boss anyway.

The young whipper snapper (about 26 Y.O.) has rung many times on different days at like 4:05pm to tell me that I am finished for the day.. yeah? Really?

No shit Sherlock. Why ring me to waste my time by telling me the obvious?

Dumb fsck.

Got zero respect for this individual. Sure hope I don't have to find a new No.1 (boss / employer) to sub contract for.

Hmm, that gives me an idea.. Maybe I should stop driving and start delegating..

It's always a pain having to break in a new boss.

Happy Tuesday guys!!!

Cheers,

One Mad Man.

You will eventually ignore this type of message, well I do, I only answer "I want to buy", "'where are you" last of all "offers" questions.

I had a bloke on Carsales ask a bunch of questions then tell me to call in if I want to sell the car. I replaced telling him that I don’t have his number and to call me. Been a week and he hasn’t read the message

that when my wife drives with me as passenger she drives over literally every single pothole. The other day she drove over 3 small ones, I was good, kept mum, then I saw a large one and she turned left "to avoid it" and I breathed in silently in relief, but shortly before passing she turned the car right and drove straight over it.

And why is it that if I point out and warn of a pothole coming up I am made to feel in a passive aggressive response like some sort of abusive partner....?

My kid was telling me my mum had to shell out for a rim because she hit a pot hole. As in cracked a wheel.
So i asked him by pot hole does she mean gutter? Or was she just driving on Parramatta road. Turns out it was Parramatta rd. Yeah mum wasn't happy about the $1500 for 1 rim, but for a 2017 benz thats worth maybe 6k that seems reasonable. Doesnt match the other 3 gutter rashed wheels though.

I can feel your pain dude.
when posting any thing for sale on ANY online platform, all of my adds read like this:

**please note, if you can read this, the item is still for sale**

For sale one thing I am selling yadda yadda yadda...

Please call or text me for the fastest response, as I do not check email frequently
================end of ad==========

This seems to work most of the time. I still get the 'bots' that try and ping my email address to ad to their database.. but that's ok, as I use a separate email addy and have a 2nd 'burner' phone just for selling things. If it rings, I know it's about the item(s) I have for sale, and answer the phone accordingly.

At the end of the day, you can't fix stupid.

Cheers,

One Mad Man

Hmm, have had the same thing happen to me many times.

The 1st fun fact is that I have learnt is:

A) she / they (females in general) have ZERO mechanical sympathy.
They also don't have to fix the 'thing' that has broken, whether it be the car, power cord, toaster, china sugar bowl lid etc.

All they have to do is whinge that it's not working / driving / toasting properly etc, until it gets fixed... in THEIR time frame, meaning it's like some kinda emergency if it doesn't get rectified by the time of it's next use.
Fuggin shits me to tears.

B) she always lets the doors handles go from the fully open position, letting them "snap" back to their original position with a bang.
XA, B, C, D, E, F, owners will appreciate this abuse on the outer door handles, as we know they break, and are a hassle to change (or even find these days).
And when you say something it's always the same drama, "o be quiet, it's just a car".

Yeah, it's just a means of getting them from A to B. They don't give 2 fscks about how it does it, or that hitting pot holes will result in a black eye, sorry, did I say that out loud?
I meant to say, that hitting pot holes will result in the car not functioning properly any longer, like the next time they drive at 100 kays an hour and the steering wheel is shaking. "It didn't do that last time I drove it" she moans, you try and tell her why... and all of a sudden YOUR the one at fault here..

Does my head in. They think because they have a gash, that the world is their oyster. Bzzz! Wrong!

You can't fix stupid. I have tried. It just doesn't end well.

You sit quietly dreading the next pothole, gritting your teeth, praying that they will avoid it... Good one babe, you nailed that one... Biatch!!!
When are you going to wake up to your self I muse internally.

Then they have the audacity to complain that you are always working on the car / toaster / blah blah blah instead of doing house work, or mowing the lawn or anything not specifically selfish in their eyes.

I'll stop typing now before another object comes my way at speed causing me to duck

Cheers,

as many times as necessary to pass it, I will legally be allowed to drive a 'super car'? (Ultra High Powered Vehicle)

I've always look out for potholes, rough surface, and anything else on the road. Its something I've done since a little kid riding a push bike, must have done thousands of km on a push bike, then many more on a motor bike. You won't last long on a bike if you don't watch the road surface. I've thought that people that dont watch the road surface must not have ridden bikes much, if at all. Probably also don't understand the damage and wear it does to the car.

People have asked me if I've been drinking, not understanding that I'm avoiding bad spots on the road. Down here in Victoria many highways (even newish ones) have ruts worn into the road where everyone drives. So I dont drive centred in the lane when its like that, I'm always driving closer to right or left line, where the road surface is nice smooth. To me its common sense, but other drivers probably think I'm a bad driver.
