I watched Hawaii 50 with a passion and have never heard of a mcgarrett for our $50.
Weird. Red Back, grey nurse yes - how did we come to call the 50buck with a yanky show actor ? last thing I would have thought we would do back then and not something aussie related. No big deal just thought to post about it.

At 7:30 tonight, I’m putting the water back on my interminable plumbing job. If it doesn’t weep or drip, James Brown will have nothing on me.

One of a couple of shows from the 70s I never watched.
Been enjoying Kojak at the moment another one I missed as a kid. "Go ahead."

Sydney’s weather is just wonderful today. That makes me feel good. Watching the cat play madly in dry leaves on the ground, is enjoyable. The people who need to listen to me, some are actually paying attention (and discovering what I’m saying suddenly gets them a lot further along)… My father didn’t wander the house aimlessly all night - another win. And I’ve returned to speaking terms, more or less, with a former partner. If the cistern cock doesn’t leak on my second try, I will feel top of the world.

And if it does leak, go to plan "C"....dig all the crap out of the joint and you should/will find a very degraded rubber O-ring, either replace or just fill it up with some sort of a Sikaflex product?...goodluck!

The leak was the cistern supply, a 1/2” female capillary elbow in the wall with a length of 1/2” full threaded brass screwed into it. Must have been short of male capillary elbows when they did it. I’d failed to properly seal the threaded brass when refitting, you want to make it possible for the next guy to investigate if needed but I ran just a bit too shy on sealant.

Last month I drove down to my cousins farm 300kays away to help him with seeding.
He just sent me a pic of the oats I put in just germinated. Made feel real good, all that work. Just need some follow up rain. Now I sound like a farmer too.

I have been bogged down in traffic the last week. I jump into the left lane because even if it is slower, it is easier and often quicker.
Well there was a Holden Sandman with the proper paint job in the right lane and just enough of a gap to hear a genuine Aussie V8 |

Receiving heaps of “ Feliz Día del Padre” texts from local Ticos & Ticas this morning!
(Father’s day here) One I have to share from my Tico builder mate… “Mi Amigo ...Féliz día del padre ..te aprecio mucho y te veo como mi padre bendiciones ....espero y la pases bien..” Translates to: My Friend ... Happy Father's Day ... I appreciate you very much and I see you as my father, blessings ... I hope you have a good time ...

Yep!… I was quite humbled!
Juan lost his dad 5 yrs ago. He runs his own construction company employing 15 odd… For some reason we hit it off when he built my pool rancho area years back… I’ve recommended him to heaps of expats, and he’s scored some massive projects! We meet weekly, and he’s forever asking my advice on projects (Christ, I’ve learnt way more off him with the way things are done here!) But, yeah… A great buddy, and feel quite privileged to be accepted by not just Juan, but the majority of the locals!

Last few posts immediately reminded me of a Christmas song I like!..
"Feliz Navidad" Not sure why I like it, probably same reason I like the "Star Spangled Banner" Cheers King Billy |
