Hi all, Mick here. I have decided to join as this looks like a great forum to learn more about the technical side of current Fords, particlarly my BF Falcon (stock, MarkII, XT....and planning to keep it that way) which I purchaed from Jefferson Ford in Mentone VIC and have run into a few problems with the car, which I will post in the relevant section of this forum. Thanks!

Welcome everyone.

cspong69, be a good idea to post your question in either the AU Falcon.com.au section of the forum HERE or in the AU-BF Falcon section HERE

I am sure a member will be able to answer your question in one of those sections.

Cheers
Col

Hi Ford fans ! I love the old classic Fords, like the Escort Mk 1 or 2, very fond of Cortina Mk III and I fancy Ford Granadas (shame they never made it here from England). I drive a modern Falcon but maybe one day I'll get a classic. Look forward to checking out pics of cars here.
Cheers

Hello to the FORD Forums Community. This is my first post.

My name is Ian ORRELL and am a retired Mechanical Engineering Associate/Technical Teacher and a Vietnam Veteran. My interests are many. Since I retired in 2002, I don't know how I ever found time to go to work. Has anyone found days with 48 hours.

I've knocked on Heaven's Door a couple of times and life is too short. Too much to do.

I have owned a few Falcons XC, XF, ED Series ll and at present an AU Series ll.

I have rebuilt the C4 XC, Borg Warner 35 Escort Mk1, Borg Warner 40 XF, and XF Ghia.

The Au Series ll has a BTR 4 Speed in it and I'm not too sure of the transmission Number. The Name Plate is damaged.

At the moment, I am having trouble with Reverse.

you can feel Reverse come on, but not a full boosted line pressure [I think]

If there boxes are similar to the EB Series ll 4 Speed, then the C3 Clutch should be engaged, B2 Band should be applied. S1 & S2 should be ON.

Looking at the Fluid paths, these two elements are supplied with booster line pressure when engaged.

I haven't looked at it yet, but has anyone had a similar problem.

Question

What is the Correct Transmission Number BTR ?????

Kind Regards

Ian ORRELL

Hello Friends
I am Ran and joined this excellent knowledge base site just 2 days ago. I have a question for my ED FALCON 93 car When I put it on drive its idle RPM goes down and when Ac on it goes down further. It never stalls but it looks some thing going wrong . I replaced O2 and map sensor cleaned the isc valve throttle body. But no use. Car goes pretty well no dramas but I am concerned with the low idle rpm. The ecu should maintain it. Please help
thanks friends and cheers

Am new to the forum. Have finally done it. Bought a g6E Turbo Anniversary model. So now you young ones can look at me and say "What a waste, a fast car like that being waisted on an "Old Fart".
Its a really lovely car. Pity Ford left their run so late.

TRY adjusting base idle screw in 1/4 turn at time - have you had flat or replacement battery - ecu will need to learn new base idle - just about every ea - ed falcon will need base idle reset . once you screw in 1/4 turn try putting gear with A/C on and jab throttle if idle dips or A/C clicks in and out screw base idle screw in some more

Gday its been awhile,

using the reply for new member as cant see 'new thread' anywhere!

anyway can anyone assist me with connecting ba xr6 fog lights

I wish to use the fog lite icon in the instrument panel to display when lites r on

I've found wiring plug behind dash where switch goes, but at engine bay fuse/relay box there are no wires going to either the relay or the fuse.

Anyone with an idea as to easiest way a achieve this
