Staff are already maxed out. It doesn't help that they are being abused for their efforts either.

I think it's unfair to blame our infrastructure (yet) , the main problem from the get-go were the people buying 10 or 20 of everything. The shelves looked as if 100 million people came here overnight.

I just managed to scrape enough together to make a spag bol so that will keep me going for a bit. Still plenty of stuff at the IGA but starting to clear out. I'm only taking what I need and just hope that there's something there next time I need food.
I don't know how many times they have to say supply is not an issue but it ain't cutting through. The supermarkets are experiencing Xmas (or greater) like demand everyday without the weeks or even months to plan for it so once the supply chain can catch up it will be fine. I was quite shocked to hear there was legislation that needed to be passed to enable the supply chain to work 24hrs a day. I thought Aussies were better than this crap. It's very disappointing especially given how everyone pulled together only just recently to support the community after the bushfires. Last edited by MITCHAY; 19-03-2020 at 06:09 PM. |

Funny you say that. head Honcho at WW said that last week, They kept up with Australian supply for 25 million people, the food and resources taken this week- would feed 50mil. This is where the issue lies.

I’ve been grabbing what ever I can on a daily basis. We are ok as it’s just my wife and I and fresh food is easy to get. I’m also a couple of kg’s over fighting weight so won’t starve any time soon

Went out on food gathering mission, while there wasn't much available in the way of the fruit, veggies and meat, we managed to stock up on CANNOLI!
Jokes on you doomsday preppers, you can have all the veggies, I'll have all the Cannoli |

I've actively given up trying to get toilet paper. Just going to buy those big rolls buildings use for now. I'm more concerned about not being able to get pasta sauce, frozen chips, and panadol rapid for the other half.
Luckily my partner works from home so she can sometime get out. We are going in on Saturday to the shops, and for a person with anxiety it's something I'm not looking forward to.

Have a feeling in a few months from now, there will be tons and tons of expired food being thrown away. And we'll have the councils complaining about the tons of rubbish they now have to find land for!

I managed to get some "extra" toilet paper, and a couple of masks today. I put them in the fridge so they would last longer. Apparently as we are yet to reach the peek of this, I figured this might help keep the rolls fresh when required in a couple of months.

local shopping centre to me has aldi , woolies , coles, & reject shop. No basics in any of them, i need some soap tablets , got 2 left for a family of three. What i do find strange is next to woolies is a butcher shop, their display is choc full of what all the knobs are buying from the supers. Same price same quality, pity they dont sell soap. I'm hoping this flattens out as quick as it has ramped up & these fools try & flog their over burden of crap on marketplace & gumtree. I will get banned then , have been already on marketplace

I’m expecting this hoarding madness to last about another fortnight. People will start to get bored after that. Already seeing less wearing of face masks. |

Saw a few bitches going at it today over groceries.
I tried to calm it down and was told "who are you *head"? Fair enough, except I wasn't the one fighting over groceries. |

Good on you for trying, but it just proves the old saying “you don’t argue with idiots, they try and drag you to their level and beat you with experience”. What a waste of good oxygen these types are, some poor bloke probably has to live with them.

Aldi are doing that to give the staff a break and to allow more time to stock shelves. It's a good move.

Unfortunately I don't expect sense to put a stop to it otherwise we wouldn't be talking about it still since there is plenty of info saying it is not necessary. I see a lot of people wearing masks but no gloves. Kind of seems pointless having one but not the other to me. They say that people who are not infected or in close contact shouldn't be depleting stocks by wearing them anyway. Apparently doctors along with scientists are part of the conspiracy to keep their pockets lined but people with no medical or scientific expertise are to be believed |

WTF is wrong with this country.
I wandered into Dan Murphy's and Liqourland and there was plenty of booze. It is so un Australian that the Bottle Shops weren't the 1st place to be emptied. No one seems to be hoarding booze. Seriously, if you are going to self isolate. Your living room should look something like this by the time you come out after 2 weeks.
