Of course the fact that the red car is carrying QLD number plates might have had Mr Plod wondering why the car was so far away from home?
Probably a hire vehicle, perhaps. They get around a bit. Cheers

Note that the term "raided" is used by the media whereas the police tend to call it a search. I'm only surprised that it took this long.

Had another truck driver tailgating me on the Freeway last night while I was doing the speed limit and overtaking cars in the left lane. First time I had Ben to the office in six weeks. Just reinforces my opinion that truck drivers are just unprofessional cowboys at best. I hope the truck driver involved in the Eastern Fwy is locked up and the key thrown away.

Thanks for proving my point about truck drivers being unprofessional cowboys. What damage would a car do to your truck if it it you? If I had to have braked heavily I would have ended up with a B-double in my rear passenger seat if I was lucky. Your attitude is typical of what I see from truck drivers who never seem cabable of taking responsibility for their own actions. It allways seems to be someone elses fault.

All those points are irrelevant. It does not matter what speed the vehicle in front is driving you should always travel at a safe distance. Try again.

So would the tailgating car cause much damage to the truck as a truck would to a car? Basic physics tells me no it would not.

I don't condone tailgating by anyone, but at least the truck has a view of the road ahead. It's a pity a lot of courtesy has disappeared from our roads.

also, had you braked for an obvious reason, you would no doubt have found the the B double had already started braking before you were even aware of the reason. also, (and this is probably not always the case) when you look in the rear view mirror, a truck can appear like it is quite close, but in reality it is further back than you realise. Its just the way viewing angles work. I'm not a truck apologist but just against people who see the need to tar the whole group because of the actions of a few. Given you mention you own a 'big aussie 6' .... I saw a big aussie 6 driver run a red light today, so therefore you must run red lights

Far out trucks drivers are far more regulated than ordinary drivers.
Every time there is an accident such as this the scrutiny is enormous(and it should be but it should also be fair) and we quickly forget all the dumb ****s running around everyday killing far more people than the odd truckie. The only real difference between the two is with the massive amount of energy of a moving truck it has much bigger potential to turn out bad if they make a mistake or are stupid. |

Unfortunately you have tools like Turbo on Outback Truckers who get the drivers a bad name.
