He meant the 327GTS Monaro. All Brougham's only got the 2.78 with the rubbish small banjo diff. Only GTS308 and GTS350 got the big diff std. |

Back in the day the AP6 273 was the first V8 mid size car until the XR 289 V8 came out in Sep 1966 and you had to wait until 5/1967 for the XR GT and 3/1968 for a HK 307 V8.
So the AP6 273 Automatic with finned drum brakes may I add and was the rocket ship back in the day. you got Auto shifter on the floor and bucket seats. The AP6 came out in 3/1965 and the AP6 V8 8/1965, first ute 11/1965. |

Holden Frontera. Saw one yesterday.
Could probably add Holden Jackaroo to that as well. Can't even remember the last time I saw one of those. Used to be a HSV version floating around my neighborhood in the late 90's. Must have been rare as rocking horse poo. |

Look what was parked next to me at the local Bunnings today. Had to take a snap after reading your post, Boss.
And this is regularly parked in the car park at work. You can see that it's not perfect, but certainly looks like it is in original condition.

I had a brougham drive past today. Haven't seen one in years. It had clearly had a lot of money thrown at it. Pretty sure gunmetal grey isnt a factory colour, and convo pros i dont think are the factory wheels. Also pretty sure it wasnt a 307. I could tell it was carbied. But dual carbs. That bit was easy. They were perched up high ontop of a supercharger.
On sundays, in my area, there often is a lot of cool sunday drivers getting the weekly drive. Its various things, mokes to t buckets, one bloke ive spoken to has a US 79 LTD 2 door which has been tastefully modified, and has a 460ci big block. Yeah, his local hangout in that thing is the servo, its not eco friendly, but its still a cool car. |

Pretty much full isuzu. Notice the holden badge on the front grille has those black wings coming out each side, thats to hide the isuzu badge. If you look in from the engine bay you can still see the badge My old man had one, was a good vehicle.

Sitting at my sons cricket match Sunday morning and had 3 hours of some nice cars coming past - and some models you don't often see.

Wow, it's like you traveled in time to the 80s. Do you live somewhere that makes rust impossible because all those cars are usually high rust cars as well.

For perspective, these cars were scattered amongst dozens and dozens of white / silver fridges on for 4 wheels But gee that 240Z looked better than ever. Alongside the oval is a broad speedhump with a zebra crossing so all of the cars that come thru get slowed or stop, so was a good spot for a car perve. |

Saw a VN 'Challenger this morning, and thought of this thread. Looked up what it was on the internets and the Challenger was a HSV run of 50 cars, V6 ones with a special grille and other decorations .... at least it's still going though!

Saw an NC Fairlane that was slammed on chrome 12 slotters and a bootlip spoiler last week.
Looked wicked, would have been sweet in black - 1990s Mafia car vibes |

Was travelling through the Southern Downs yesterday and came across a collection of hot rods. Stopped to see a bit of eighth of a mile dirt track racing. What a hoot. The event was called the Moonshine Run.
Going to shows in Brisbane i invariably see many of the same cars. Most of these i hadnt seen before, including this sweet little two door. https://unseenentropy.tumblr.com/search/moonshinerun https://m.facebook.com/events/366932214429709/

On the occasional sunday i see an old timer in a morris major. It looks like its in very good condition. My next door neighbour has a family friend who is the morris minor guy. He has 8 of them at the moment. 5 are in various states of restoration, once done he will on sell those ones. He has a concourse minor 1000, a concourse 850 and his hot rod. Well, its the one he actually drives. Its a 51 (i think thats what he said), so where the headlights are still in the grill not on the guards. It has a 'big block' 1200 from a morris marina with dual carbs, celica 5 speed. Interior is immaculate, only modification in there is he added seatbelts, but thats allowable in my book. Morris guy claims that its the only one he has that can do freeway speed. I'd beleive that. Its a real nice car.

I came across a Ford Cougar today.
I think these, along with the first generation Focus, were one of the better executed New Edge designs. I looked at one of these when shopping for my first car, I was surprised by the lack of headroom. I was more interested in one of Ford's worst executions of New Edge design though, the AU Falcon.

Saw a Silver/Grey '77 Celica GT "Mustang" Liftback at Brisbane Airport, it was gone before i could get a picture but it looked fantastic and sounded far from stock.
Not the one but you get the idea...

mechanic a few doors down from my work must specialise in classics. theres always a few 60s/70s stangs, even the odd shelby (or tribute), early holdens and falcons, and a few oddities...
Gives me a smile as i drive slowly past every morning and arvo. "hmmm lets see, what car am i adding to my dream garage today" |
