Got a SMS by EB tonight, Mrs is going to run down and grab it for me and besides Gym i have all friday to play it.

Really hoping it's going to be great to play as the car list has disapointed me, although im looking forward to some NASCAR action at the wheel of the #42 already.

So from the reviews it seems the actual driving is good as always, but it was a little under done with the execution. I race in bumper mode so I dont care about damage etc, cockpit view is useless aswell.

My mate got it last night said there is burnout marks and heaps of smoke on drift mode not sure about normal racing....He said all cars sound standard and then when you change exhaust it actually sounds like what the car would sound etc I will be getting it today for sure

I need a racing wheel. Because I sure can say steering from the PS3 control sucks.

I don't like it how it only shows used cars when it feels like it. I'd rather just be able to look at every one for the 1000 cars when I want.
Didn't see any Holdens so far. I guess they are in the Used section?

Getting my copy dropped off by my mate who works at EB games today. Will try it tonight. I dont have a a full HD tv, just a standard Samsung LED, but hoping the graphics look as good if not better than F1.

got mine and its brilliant!

Pros:
graphics
car engine sound effects (oh my god the cobra R counds tuff)
it still feels the same to navigate
partical smoke effects + realastic skid marks.

cons:
takes a bit to load things.....

Not really, EA included a couple of australian cars JUST for the australian release with nfs3 and nfs4. They didn't even bother putting them into the us/euro versions. how long would it have taken to do 1 hsv and 1 fpv?

I'd be almost positive that a Samsung LED is going to be HD.

I'm waiting for the patch to install (25 minutes) before installing the game (apparently another 45 minutes) :(

That is a typo Rod. LED should read LCD Its an older R series version. My mistake.

I have the R7 LCD and it does HD, but only 720P or 1080i not full high def 1080P, don't worry it will still look amazing!

I'm not impressed with this game at all to be perfectly honest.
It's just not up to scratch, the graphics are nothing special, the
cars sound poxy even through my home theatre speakers and the list goes on and on.
I feel the same about Black Ops which I also got on the release date. as well.
So far I'd give them both a 6/10 and that's after hours and hours of game play.

I've been playing around with it for the last few hours and I have to say... so far i'm not impressed.

- I had to download an 8gb thing to reduce loading times but the loading times are still the worst I have ever seen, ever, in the history of video games.

- Every time I load the game up it tries to connect to a server for 5 minutes but never makes it. Then I get the 'couldn't connect to the server' message which is fine, I'm not interested in online yet. I navigate to the main menu and it tries to connect to the server for another 5 minutes. Seriously getting f'd off about the server stuff.

- It still does not have software support for the clutch in my G25, WTF? its only been how many years?

- I have to buy a car before I can attempt the licences. WTF happened to getting all gold on the first licence and being able to spend your start up money on parts for the car you win? I'm ok with starting with a slow car but after getting silver on the licences I now have 3 slow cars and a go kart and no money.

- I'm hoping this is just me being stupid but I can't find the nurburgring. I found 2 nurburgring tracks but not the 20K road course from GT4.

- The menus are stupid as always. They have always been stupid, like a really bad website that doesn't make sense, but I was hoping with the years of waiting, that they would be made a little simpler this time.

The driving itself seems the same as Prologue, which is still awesome and that's what counts. I just hope the server sh't, the clutch and the 20K nurburgring road course are fixed up or i'm going to be pretty ****ed (I really hope i'm wrong about the nurburgring thing).

For me it was a choice between an older mx5 and a 07 (i think) suzuki swift. I went with the swift.

Make sure you do an oil change too, My swift went from 119bhp to 125bhp.

They seem to have defaulted to Microsoft time - I was stuck on 1 minute to install for about 10 minutes then 45 seconds to install for about 5 minutes. :(

That's the one. Thanks mate. yes it should still do the job ok, just won't have the crispness the Full HD/3D tv have.

Has anyone with a 3D tv used the 3D feature on the game yet?

Just went out during lunch and went to Big W Macquarie Park ... they had a heap of them on the shelves ... so I have my copy now.

Now to go and find the PS3 packed away with all of my furniture and other stuff.
