Holding off Track Car, get it while you can before we're living off bread and water or rice and tea. Less is more people keep saying and equality for all

Interesting listening to the Qld. country hour before (ABC), Ian McFarlane (ex Fed Minister, now CEO Qld Resources Council) spruiking that China will still need Metalurgical Coal, Minerals, Gas and of course Iron Ore..
( His words ) So, everyone just needs to stay calm.. |

Regarding coal, China and Indonesia just signed a "non binding" agreement over the next 3 years. That's for thermal coal. So we can probably kiss that goodbye. Coking coal they can source internally and through Russia, or even the USA. Australia was favourable due to quality and location, in comparison to USA. Quote:

…More or less as expected, our PM has been trolled by experts - his principal response on WeChat being smartly blocked.

I do have to laugh how many around the world are acting as if China is doing a great duty of exposing our war crimes and holding us to account
The story was broken a long time ago and a years long enquiry has taken place with a report that has been made public. It's not hidden, it has been well publicized all over. They have been referred for possible prosecution where they may or may not be trialed and convicted. This is going to take many years. The CCP still deny they do anything wrong |

But on the plus side, it seems 'the world' is getting tired of China's tactics. United States Ambassador Arthur Culvahouse Jr accuses China of spreading misinformation over Afghan soldier image https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-...image/12942856 And. After China's tariffs on Australian wine, global campaign calls for people to drink a 'bottle or two' https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-...ector/12941152

So something that I have thought of lately, and is of interesting to me as I work in dirty coal. My company currently sells to Japan and South Korea, thankfully not much to China.
In a meeting some 6 months ago we had been informed that the market for coal is going to go through some changes as Russia has apparently heavily upgraded their rail network so they can rail coal to guess who...interesting times.

Polyal, can't agree with your top sentence, would you actually think our issue with the CCP goes to the top of our Allies pile before the countless other priorities they have in their own covid poop and more ?
Now IF it was going to WAR or something as severe everything else would be dropped I'm sure but not how you express as such. PH still in ? a number of reasons but I do not wish to offend some with my assumptions. Some of her POV's are valid in simpletem terms but we know its not as Looking forward how this bumpy but important ride pans out.

Unfortunately Australia is smack bang in Asia Pacific, and thats where we should be focusing. Note, China and PNG just signed a fishery deal. This COULD allow chinese vessels to start fishing right next door to us in the future. China and Indonesia just signed some sort of mega copper port deal, there is talks Indonesia may eventually allow China to have boots on the ground. China and Japan just agreed to reduce trade tariffs, this is despite Japan being one of the staunchest allies of the US, with large numbers of US troops based on their soil. How the heck did they manage that? If Japan can do it, why can't we? At some stage you gotta ask how we got into this mess, and more importantly, how do we get out of it. But is seems broaching anywhere near this topic means you might be on the "wrong side", so around and around we go. |

As for the (Australian) Guardian, that was given a big kick along by Malcolm Turnbull in 2013 (election year), so I've never bothered reading it.

This motion happened, on about the same day as the article that came out of the Guardian, which was not good timing....because they seemed very similar. For your benefit I won't post the article. |

It's not just us that China is finding pushing back. Florida's Representive Ted Yoho https://twitter.com/RepTedYoho/statu...tor%2F12941152 Miriam Lexmann — a Slovakian member of the European Parliament — invited people to "stand against Xi Jinping's authoritarian bullying". Swedish councillor Elisabet Lann implored people to "let the Chinese Communist Party know we will not be bullied" by drinking a "bottle or two of Australian wine". Then there's Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China.https://twitter.com/ipacglobal Which includes various politico's (in the vid) from The USA. The Europeon Parliment. Germany. The UK. Japan. Sweden. Canada.

Sorry, I know these are nice gestures, it makes us feel warm and fuzzy, but will it hurt them? We need something stronger if you want to make a difference. How about Biden and Boris making a brief statement? Even a statement from Merkel would embarrass them. I'm sorry, if it has caused so much grief for us, it deserves at least some recognition from heads of our closest allies, not through their deputies. I reckon Trump would have said something if he wasn't in such a predicament. A real punch in the face would be push backs from countries in ASEAN or even one or two in the middle east, saying "we do not condone what you have done, we appreciate what Australia has done to address this issue" (in reference to the tweet, of course they have no interest in the trade war bullying). Just my view, as unpopular as it may be. I'll be quiet now. |

If the war was lets say in Brisbane, flights were flying over Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast but one clown flew directly over Brisbane say, that's some what like what was the situation I believe. Hey anyone want to fly over a war Zone, yes ! hey a free view of such man sweet ! or would you say sod off, don't go flying over a war zone fool. It's our media playing the one sided clown once again trying to cause as much trouble as they can dividing everyone and they have been down playing China as well. |
