Yes it is. Pics don't do it justice. Maybe not as fancy looking as a propel or s-works, but I'm a cannondale fan and they win plenty of awards with their hi mod frames.

At one point or another I always seem to hold a Cannondale. Currently I have the Super X and Scalpel 29er . I 've been a fan for many years both on road and off and believe what they deliver is spot on.
I was disappointed a few years back when my pride and joy Lampre Team Super Six developed that well reported aluminium rust between the aluminium and carbon and after many years supporting the brand was hurt by the way I was treated. As a result I walked away , but since the change in the Aust distributor have returned.

I didn't notice this at the time of purchase (rose coloured glasses) but the levers don't sit together. Both sides are the same. Is this normal. It doesn't look normal and most pictures I've looked up seem to suggest they should be together. My 105 levers on my old bike sit nice and flush together.

Any ideas?

I'm a big vintage CDale fan but only made in the USA frames. Two wheel imports at the time were pretty hopeless getting accessory parts or replacement stuff. I bought heaps of clothing off them over the years and they would constantly stuff up my orders.

Until yesterday I hadn't touched my bicycles since my crash last year. A fractured bone in the right hand and damaged tendon in my left shoulder put me on the sidelines. Plus I scratched my new toy.

Yesterday I went to move the road bicycle which has been in the same spot for more than eight months. Only to discover that it was stuck to the concrete! The tubeless tyres had deflated and the puncture sealant had escaped gluing the tyres to the concrete. FFS.

I hate that crap and once the mess has been cleaned I will be fitting inner tubes.

Do the high mileage cyclists on AFF prefer tube or tubeless tyres?

Depends on your riding conditions, for me riding MTB tubeless is a must. If you’re road riding, not so much.

I run tubes. Not many guys I know run tubeless outside of competition.

Good question. It's definitely an Italian brand so I assumed yes but appears not rW.......but I also don't know if other parts have been changed. The seat was I know.

My gears also for example are different completely to the one in article - mine are Shimano Flightdeck.

Proper-quality clip pedals on now, not the crap $5 ones the previous owner had on!!!

flightdeck won't be the model. It will be tiagra, 105, ultegra or dura ace. unlikely dura ace

also, it doesn't matter where the frames are made. Some people like to make a song and dance about that sort of thing, but no brand is going to risk their reputation by putting their name on a sub standard product.

Rockwiz for example only rates cannondales made in the usa, however cannondale are still one of the best brands out there and one of the biggest innovators. They make the fastest and lightest UCI legal bike there is, so country of manufacturer doesn't really mean its an inferior product.

clip in take a bit of getting used to, but once you get accustomed to it, riding without them just feels weird, especially on hills, or on a power burst.

You're right. They made the lightest UCI bikes for years (in 6061 T6) long before carbon.
Its not a Cannondale unless it was "Handmade in the USA" in my books.

It reminds me of buying a Holden which is pretending to be Australian.

Yeah I used to ride a lot when younger so I'm fine with it (in traffic not ideal but I don't make mine very tight so can clip out pretty easily on a sudden stop (yes I've fallen a few times too trying to clip out when sudden stop.......lol)

Well it appears you know far more than me which is fine......ha.

I'm not at home but I'm very confident it's Ultegra. It may not be great or new but works fine for me and bike shop said a quality groupset.

Even said no need for a service just yet which I thought was great and honest

this could be a sign that your setup is not quite right. you shouldn't be supporting yourself through your wrists. it could be a result of seat too high or bars too low or stretching too much to reach the bars, or a number of other things. just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't improve as you ride more then perhaps look at your 'bike fit'.

by the way, its fine that you only like the 'made in the usa' ones. mine are still very much cannondale though. whether you consider them such or not is irrelevant.

I consider the latest bikes from all the big players to be works of art, but to each their own.

I honestly think it will be ok - just not used to it as my wrists are very skinny for my size and roadbikes are very hard on bumps etc. (joins on my bike track seriously bad)

Oh nice one! I've heard they're brilliant. I'm sure a lot better than mine (plus better rider too as I'm still rusty.....ha)

I consulted the bike shop before purchase and they said what I needed to pay it had much better quality parts and build than their new basic models. (surprisingly honest for a sales place, very impressed )

Paid 350, already had new brakes and tyres, as guy wanted $$ asap (500 asking price) - I was happy to jump on it as I find stationary gym bikes I get bored (just me, I'm sure they're great too)

I did 63km with a couple of mates this afternoon. Nine months on the sidelines meant I struggled and the last few kilometres back to the car were TORTURE.

No pain, no gain……...
