I reckon it will be Richie's best chance this year to nab the yellow. Its a mixed bag I reckon. There will be some names not normally in the top that will appear, which is great for the sport.

The Shimano M70T3 brake pads were at the end of their life. I purchased Jagwire Dilopho to replace them. Are they as good as the Shimano?

never heard of that brand. But you do pay for what you get. I suspect they will do the job if your cycling is 'around the block with the kids' style.

Can't believe I haven't seen this thread before.
Anyway, here is my steed. A Ti Lynskey R260. Have had it for about a year or so. Previously had a flat bar roadie (still have it, it's my wet weather bike now). Di2 Ultegra groupie, 30m alloy Craftworx rims (made right here in Brisbane) and hydraulic disc brakes. I try to do at least 200km a week on it. It's a lovely bike to ride - the first time I rode it was the first time I ever tried a Ti bike, the frame soaks up so many little vibrations, I actually thought the tyres were flat at first. They are hand made frames out of Tennessee - the Lynskey family were behind the Litespeed brand before they sold the name and started their own brand. Exceptional build quality - the price reflects that but it's only money right?
I wanted a bike that couldn't be confused with the sea of similar carbon bikes that are out there these days - and I think this hits the brief. The titanium is light, fast, and importantly, strong.

The main difference is the Shimano pads have the mounting post in the middle where as the trailing part of the Jagwire pad is longer then the leading part.

Thanks mate. Fairly certain Lynskey make their own tubes from flat sheet in house. They do some incredible work - their Helix frames are a sight to behold.

What is the best method and product for cleaning the dried tyre sealant from the tyre and rim (without damaging the tyre or rim)?

It appears methylated spirits and a lot of elbow grease slowly removes the tyre sealant residue.

It was only a matter of time. I finally got swooped by a magpie this afternoon right near the end of my ride. It only made one pass.

Yep, I came across a blood draw-er one year on my regular commute to work. It got to the point that I started to wear my motorbike helmet (commute was fairly short thankfully), but it STILL kept dive bombing me and making contact with my head. Crazy.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is becoming extremely popular with cyclists. It's often peak hour traffic on the weekends and school holidays.

It’s a wonderful trail. And only getting better with the older timber bridges being upgraded to allow riding, rather than detours under them. Definitely worth a few days to ride.

Blackbutt on the trail is my nearest town and every time I have to go in there on a weekend the place is chockas with bikes!
I've only done the Blackbutt to Linville ride a couple of times but it's an extremely pleasant ride and the Linville Pub is a great place for refreshments! |

It is well known and proven that the bicycle is one of the most energy efficient forms of transport. So why does it feel so strenuous riding up hills?

+1. I've put on about 10-15kg in the past 18months I'm not proud of. I look like an asian Taco
Getting out is harder than ever now since work has tripled in the past 6 months. Had the bike serviced 3 weeks ago with the intention to get out and its still sitting in the garage all cleaned up and lubed ready.

Need recommendations for 26" mountain bike tyres. The Wilderness Trail Bike tyres which came with the bicycle are near the end after 21 years.

Road bike has been fixed. I changed the tyres from tubeless so that I don' have that sealant sloshing around inside (and everywhere else when it gets out of the tyres). Hate the stuff.
Looking forward to this weekend when I get to put some mileage on the road bike for the first time since July last year.
