Looks well done - would like to see a daytime shot though. I'm guessing you colour-matched?

yeah went to KGP and got the right colour match ill get some shots tomorrow, i didnt plan on painting them. i pulled them apart to clean the inside of the plastic scince i had left some fingerprints from when i did my demon eyes. Heres a handy tip dont use windex on the chrome plating, it strips it straight off lol.

I like it, well done! Always wondered why that wasn't standard. IMO look much better than the standard chrome.

Yeh i don't know why they changed to the chrome lights. I love the black ones that are on teh SW kittys. The chrome only really suits the black and the blue SX. It looks shocking on every other colour in the range!

Good work with the headlights. Looks like that would've taken some doing. However, as Cougar-Boy said, the chrome works with black... so I'm staying.

Are those two cannons under the rear? Did you get the rest of the piping done? How's it feel and sound now?

Also a note that in the upcoming Street Fords magazine there is an Eibach Cougar in it, photographed at Symmons Plains I believe it's FTE-666 - because of the numberplates!

Spotted a black semi-Eibach Cougar last weekend as well in Bankstown near the airport. Had all the Eibach hallmarks except the bodykit as far as I could tell.

Oh, and Dave, I noticed your post about the Cougar grille... are you sure it doesn't fit? I don't know why it wouldn't fit your car due to the Eibach kit? That shouldn't affect the bonnet/headlight area? Unless it's designed for an SX and not an SW model..?

Dan

That grill only fits 2001 SX onward Cougars. The 99-00 SW Cougar grills don't have the pointy ends.

Dan, It doesn't fit mine because the ends are cut off on my grille which was a real bugger. I am told that it is for a 2000 model which is why I bought it but I tell you what if it doesn't fit then no problem you don't have to pay.

The things are only held in by two screws so it is an easy job to fit.

Come around to my place on the weekend (Saturday) and try it out.

Abraxas beat me too it! Yes that's my Kitty (FTE-666) just comming out of the hairpin at Symmonds Plains, it's Street Fords, issue 40, pg 46, bottom left hand corner, if anyone is interested Your spot on the money for the location of the fuel filter Cougs! Got mine done at my last service.

Well done for getting a Cougar in the magazine! How was driving it on the track? I think I had an advantage to spotting first due to the subscription :

I do. Mainly due to the extended warranty though and I've had to call on that many times. It's concerning that even the Ford dealerships struggle with our cars - so I don't have much hope that the non-Ford service centres could handle it.

Mine's going in on Monday for the 135K service, 2nd time I have had it serviced through Ford but I have to say they have been fantastic. I take it to Peter Warren at Warwick Farm & one of their service managers is an FTE trained mechanic who has been very helpful.

My car originally came from Peter Warren back in 2001, and as they were one of the few FTE dealers in Sydney they should be fairly good at what they do on our cars. Mine is serviced by Sinclair Ford in Penrith. There have been two occassions where the car has got the better of the team there and so it has had to be transferred to City Ford to be diagnosed and repaired.

What I can say though is that the car was fixed, and I was at least given a courtesy car for the time I was without the Cougar. Mines still pre-100,000 but with the Extended Warranty about to end in the next few months could be due an early service just to make sure everything's ok.

Hope all is OK with it - or at least gets repaired before the warranty runs out.
I have had a problem with the central locking on mine since I got it. I have already had the main unit & drivers door actuator replaced. At the last service they discovered that the locking pin solenoid on the fuel filler door was actually missing! With the price of fuel these days definately getting that replaced on Monday. I also need the passenger door actuator replaced. After Monday I will have a completely new central locking system. As I mentioned a while ago my cougars previous owner did not look after it at all!

Door actuators are extremely common to go on our cars. I have had both door actuators go in mine as well. I was told they're worth about $600AUD each... so the cost of the extended warranty has paid for itself. I also had an electrical problem in the first days I had the car, from memory it was something to do with the a/c but I can't remember for sure.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one to replace actuators!

Cost is OK so far - I got the car at a really good price so I'm still in front - so far. Just hope I don't find anything else to soon.
