Hi, first post!!!
I just got my first coupe (black xc) this week and am dying to put convo pro's and bfg radial t/a's on it and ive got a couple of questions after reading the extensive amount of information on this awesome forum! If i dont wish to have any rub at all with 3 people in the car, not modify diff or guards will 15 x10, 5 inch backspace 275/60/15 rear be ok or could i possibly squeeze 295/50/15? And 15x7 3 3/8 back space 225/60/15 work on front without rub on full lock or could i go 245/50/15 and is 3 3/8 the correct back space for the front? Thanks for any help!

Thats a nice clean looking ute you got there.
I think it would look good with the front dropped a couple of inches.

Hi guy's,
This is a great thread, its been very helpful reading all of the different sizes of wheels Coupe owners have fitted. I just managed to pick up two sets of wheels recently,i will decide what ones i'm keeping and fitting to my XB Coupe and what ones i'll sell on. Both sets are 5 stud X 4.5" PCD so they'll fit ok. I will post some pictures shortly to see what you all reckon. One set consists of 2 very deep dished rears, probably 10X15's with massive NR50 15'S on them and the matching front wheels are only 14's.,i dont know the make but they look like the 'Hotwire' style i have seen pictured in this thread. The other set is two rear 8.5X15 Wolfrace Slot Mags with 295/50/15's which are knackered unfortunately matching fronts are 7X15's,these are true old school wheels. Both sets of alloys need refurbished but they seem to be in generally good order. Once i add pictures it would be good to have any advice or opinions on the two different sets. Cheers Crawfy! |

Here are some pics of the wheels i've picked up.
I've discovered that they are actually Appliance wheels from the early 70's,i think they are called Wire Mags and seem to be pretty rare. The rears look to be 10x15 with a 4" backspace and the front deep dish rim is 5". They have very good condition NR50-15 tyres fitted. The fronts are 14",probably 8" width and need tyres. I found an advert from the 70's launching these wheels and another picture of a polished restored wheel and they look really nice i reckon,i just need to try one on to see if they will rub on the arch or not....fingers crossed. If they fit i'm going to have them re-polished and new centre caps fitted and i think they will transform my XB Coupe! Cant seem to load the pics are they are too large! Dont know how to fix this problem. Cheers Crawfy! |

Those rims look great!! 15x10's with a 4" backspace will rub your guards. You'll need to lip the rear wheel arches and lift the bum otherwise the tyres will foul the guards. You may need to use 275 tyres.
The ideal backspace is 5" with a standard width diff. Do all the measurements and test fit the rims. See how you go. I know a guy who had his diff shortened just so he could run the particular rims he wanted. I'm pretty conservative with what I'm running. 16x9 rears, 4.5" backspace and 255 rubber allows me to run the suspension reasonably low and no scraping issues fully laden, even with unlipped guards.
