I don't mind the antenna.

Look at how many other cars (European) have it and the BA/BF Fairlane had one as well.

I don't think so, most likely the G6E Turbo like the current model. I think the lip spoiler idea on the S series VF Commodore was a love/hate thing. So I think Ford will stick with the regular large spoiler for all XR models. Which will share around the same kit.

Car in post #3833 looks to have the F6 rear spoiler.
XR has only 2 supports where as the F6 has 3. An extra support in the middle.

Lip spoiler on the VF was for fuel economy.
The wing on VEs contributed something like .2L/100km on the highway cycle or something.

Front quarters are the same with flutes cute out in them for inserts the same as the SZ Territory, otherwise they are identical.

I've been asking this question for weeks and suggesting he state in his posts whether he knows something or is speculating... alas he's ignored everything I've said...

I'm now ignoring everything he says. I appreciating the images he's posted but otherwise his credibility has been blown...

Temporary? No.

The new system requires it.

FGII's built from this month come with it too...

The turret.

Why how Im not sure. Id say they had to do something with the turret stamping machine and have moved to the new turret that comes stamped with a hole in it for the antenna.

GTF 351 gets the new antenna too.

The option would be nice.
I like the clean look of lip spoilers, to my mind they’re a little bit more up market.
The bigger wings would be the go if I was doing 300kph on the Autobahn.

FG2's wont get that though (apparently).

I thought the GT-F may have, if any of them do it will, but the rest wont.

Interesting question. I know why it is there, but I don't know why they have appeared on the FGII all of a sudden??

This, going of thd photos we have, the only new sheet metal will be the bonnet and boot. Rear quaters seem to be the same with the lights maintaining the FG cut out in the panel. Same with the front, I'd say the FH gaurd will bolt directly to a FG without changing the bar or lights...

He doesn't, half of what he "knows" is recycled from this thread (including half of the images on his page), but claims to have seen the thing in flesh...

i don't want to sound cynical, but from what i've experienced over the years, it's most likely down to money.

or maybe just a hint at the next model which they also did many times over the years

LOL no I don't know, it is an FH/FX thing and we know the reason the FH car has the antenna, but I don't know why it has now appeared on the FGII??

Why put an antenna on a car that is not connected to anything??

Really? This much discussion over the inclusion of an antenna?
Who really cares?
If it improves the reception that the earlier window integrated antenna had then why not?
Cost saving, well being the last model it doesn't matter.
There are far more pressing items that require attention than an antenna.

Tail light from the Escort Concept.. Making more and more sense now (Australian Designed too).. I'd foresee a bigger version (obviously) with a longer. flatter tail given it's got a bigger boot. That headlight cluster is looking like a dead give away actually..

I'll chuck a vid in too.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MENOFhELWF8
