Have they even stopped for a minute and wondered who are the people driving the sales of their cars like the Ranger?
Might they be the hard working class enthusiasts that love their Australian Falcon and Motorsport. Lets kick them in the guts because the people that normally buy Camrys & Aurions will save Ford and buy the new Mondeo when it is released. The magic fairies will also cast spells on people and the sales of the Focus will also surpass the Corolla and Mazda3, when the evil Falcon is put to rest. The non enthusiasts will save Ford once they know they are a company that is not into dreadful things like Motor Racing.....yeah right.

Turn over a new leaf and sell more cars to other people than less cars to the same people. Cant hurt trying as the same old isn't working. JP |

It looks like they are opening up the pathways for multiple engine configurations. The beauty of that would be, you could theoretically have an Ecoboost Mustang and/or a V8 Variant running the same power output (capped and standardised at a guess). Mondeo, the same. The beauty of COTF is that they can pretty much skin any 4/5 seater car body onto the platform, drop their engine of choice (so long as it's in the Manufacturers Catalogue I would say) and go gangbusters. It's quasi-nascar (more so TOCA?) but it's now more accessible to other makes which is nice I guess... I foresee a return to the Touring car days of old (think pre Holden Ford Duopoly- already happening) but using the COTF platform with a lot of standardisations across the line. You could see Alfas make a come back, Chrysler & Lexus too. They could all employ engines more realistic with their actual show room cars thus staying a bit truer to their individual design philosophies. The only complications I see needing to be addressed: Vehicle weight when different makes employ different powertrains; V8's V6's and Turbo 4's or whatever they go for. -Power Deliver (Peak torque, Maximum Kw. etc)... The ECU's would all have to be set up to deliver very similar figures across the range at a guess... Factory backing may be a thing of the past but If you have solid sponsors, you don't really need it. It was far more important when the V8SC platforms were custom jobs, needing far more engineering input etc and more development $$$ Anyway, that's my thoughts on that for now.

Guessing you're being sarcastic...hope you're being sarcastic. Holden have nothing in the Performance care pipeline after Commodore. All indications point to no V8 Sedan, no Camaro... at best, the VXR range which they would enter a Hi-Po Turbo 4 in the Future championship.

Now I heard from a friend of a friend,
who knows a guy, who has a mate, thats know the cleaner in the Australian Army and he reckons Chrysler is coming on board with a 1,500 shaft horsepower (1,100 kW) Honeywell AGT 1500 multi-fuel gas turbine, and a six speed (four forward, two reverse) Allison X-1100-3B Hydro-Kinetic automatic transmission, Thye say it will CRUSH all before (or behind) it. Should be against forum rules to post a pic of a Falcon being destroyed.
