You need to stop filling up 95 at 124.9cpl, it seems to have caused the 27cpl price hike!

But yeah whats the go with these jumps overnight?

Bahahahahaha, unlucky coincidence for those filling up after me.

That's what happens when the cartels have a complete monopoly. And with a toothless ACCC, nothing will happen from the corridors of power. I am not known for big government, but when there's a body tasked to prevent such behaviour, you have to question the legitimacy of their existence.

These low oil prices are due to economic warfare. The mainstream media reckons its an American ploy to sink the Russians:

I thought it was because we (the west) started trading with Iran and they produce a lot of oil. Supply increased, demand stayed the same, prices dropped.

I'd say you're on the money. US lifted trade embargo on Iran, Iran is adding an addition 500,000 barrels of oil per day to the market, with it's aim of reaching 3.1 million barrels of oil per day.

"OPEC member Iran currently exports 1.1 million barrels of crude oil per day and hopes to get back to its pre-sanctions level of 2.2 million, last reached in 2012. Iran's total production now stands at 3.1 million barrels per day.

"Our exports will be doubled within a short period of time after the sanctions are lifted," Zanganeh said.

"We have no worries about selling the 500,000. God willing it will be realized. And I should not be concerned about price, others should be," he said, referring to other oil exporters.

"Under no circumstances will Iran concede its market share to others. We don't seek permission from anyone to use our rights."

Source http://news.yahoo.com/iran-boost-oil...145130859.html

Make no mistake the Iranian's are no friends of the House of Saud, and will fill the market with oil. As will other countries with a vendetta against the US and the Saudi's.

You can't kill shale, just delay it. So you flood the market and sell your oil cheaper than the break even point for shale companies. They go out of business but you've lost oil in the process. Eventually the middle east will reach a point where it's cheap wells dry up and cost of production for them will become the same, or higher than the production cost for shale oil.

Shale oil isn't going anywhere, it's just a case of whether it's economically viable now, or 10 years down the line. OPEC is just clutching straws at this point, they know their oil fields are drying up and becoming less profitable, hence why there so scared of american shale oil. When the middle east starts running out, America will just get started.

That said, oil will probably sit at around what it was at it's peak value a couple years ago when shale oil starts becoming our main source.

E85 is most definitely good. Most cars on the roads can't run it though, so we'll probably see a transition over to E85 that matches the phasing out of the old cars on our roads.

E85 does have the ethical issue of instead of making ethanol we should be shipping the food off to africa or whatever. You know what the one world greenies are like.
