I don't know about others but Steve's death hasn't quite sunk in for me yet. It's good to see all these tributes being organised to enable his legacy to live on. There are a few cruises happening to raise money for his causes. It's a great community that this country has.

I've finally read through this thread. I've been so busy I and didn't want to post without reading all the posts/tributes. I'm still coming to grips with it. It doesn't help I've got Steve's pic on a newspaper sitting on the table to see every day. And now Brock. It's just unbelieveable. I never knew much about Steve before but I appreciated his passionate view on life and his down-to-earth no-bulls*** nature. As his old man said, Steve was an honest man. I wish I had've visited Australia Zoo again sooner and had the chance to meet the man who genuinely cared about life. I completely agree with what he said, the most fearsome creature on the planet is the human being. I would rather the person who ran into my EL on Thursday night have been taken than Steve. The person who was arguing that it was my fault that they ploughed into the side of my Falcon while I was on the roundabout.
Condolances to Terri, Bindi and Bob who couldn't possibly feel any worse than right now having no loving husband/father to lean on or look up to now. He's the ultimate Australian and no-one could ever replace his selflessness and passion for life and his family and wildlife. Who else would spend so much on buying land which would result in no personal gain for oneself? RIP Steve. Your legend will live on forever. |
