great pics of bathurst
the other hardtop you are unsure of is the john goss 75 car and although it doesn't matter because it is a holden l34 means the bathurst type torana - similar to a gt l16 was a 4 cyl. l20 was a 6 - i think the 202 and l31 was a 308 i am not sure what the 253 designation was most slr5000's were l31's - there was only a handful of examples were genuine l34's and no torana had a 350 from factory - they had 4 cyl, 6 cyl and the 253 and 308 v8 Last edited by gtxb67; 16-11-2012 at 08:39 PM. |

Thanks for the Holden info. I think some Aussie told me they could have 350s. I've got a diecast of an A9X SLR 5000 sedan. It has the 308.
I hope to finish posting Bathurst pictures today, and then I'll start a new topic for the next leg of the trip (Cairns and the desert). I'm finally going back to work on Monday, which is great for me, but it means it'll take a lot longer to post pictures from the rest of the trip.

OK, Bathurst is done: http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/u...Number=2627994
I'll be starting a new topic for Cairns and the desert. It's probably going to take a while. Cairns should be pretty easy, because I didn't really take that many pictures there (when I was snorkeling I was using a video camera, and I won't be posting the video). But I had 3 days in the desert plus a day in Alice Springs afterward.

Thanks Moby for posting everything on your Crown Vic site, it must take a lot time.
Thanks also to the Ford fans who met you and showed such great hospitality. Just a note, you are right about the car you thought looked like a Fox-bodied Mustang being an XF Falcon, built 85-87 it was the last of the X-series Falcons and very popular as a taxi! Although that one has a mild body kit the tailights are stock, just colour coded. Glad you enjoyed your trip and our country and keep posting, what can I say, you're a one-man tourist drive!!!! |

I think the desert was the most interesting part of my trip, but I don't know how well the pictures will convey it.
It's funny that it's taking me longer to post the pictures than it took to take the trip!
