It is very macho and futuristic looking (exactly HSV have been all about since VY)
I give HSV 10 out of 10 for effort, but as Ive said before its a bogans idea of what euro muscle is. Since E series 1 its looked like HSV have whacked the rear bar from a sportscar (Lambo,Ferrari) on a car based on a family sedan, this new rear wouldnt look out of place on a Lambo etc Mechanically a very formidable product though. I think after consumers get over the initial shock of the styling these things will sell just as well as their predecessors if not better. I think the core cashed up HSV enthusiasts will lap it up regardless. If they lost the G8 bonnet, added SS-V tail lights, rear bar and 22" Walkinshaw Clubby wheels itd be visually a good package. |

SAAB called, they want their wheels back.
Audi's design and patent dept called and they want their daytime lights back and oh, Autobarn called too........ fullsick ricers are ****ed that every idea they have been adding to their civics and pulsars for the last 10 years has been stolen. The wheels on the senator look like the wheels my old man had on his VC SL/E 25 years ago too. I wonder what HDT will morph this thing into? |

NO!! They ruined the Senator.
The bogans that buy these are going to love the styling in the flesh. I imagine they will look mean as hell on the road and the GTS in particular has the mechanical package to back it up. I don't actually mind the look of the GTS up front, just remove the ****erish lightbar. In agreement with most others, that rear end was designed by Satan. Kudos to HSV for atleast trying. That said, I hope whoever approved that Senator design rots in hell for eternity. |

Hahaha
Thanks HSV, thanks for making me feel good about owning an FPV I woulnd't been seen dead in one of those and :MrT_anim: that put hard coin up to purchase one. Most of the typical GM fans will think it looks cool and that would prove every stereotypical opinion about them correct. the wheels, the nostrals, the led's in the bumper, the back bumper and the balance of the overall THING, stop it I have tears in my eyes from the laughter. I thought the original VE was about as ugly and unbalanced overall designed as could be possible, they proved me wrong. That thing simple fell out of a very tall ugly tree, hit every branch on the way down and landed very unfortunately. LOL @ HSV this made my day.....

So the HSV Design team Had a meeting.............
It ended in a brawl................ with no one winning... So they said 'Stuff it' The Audi boys have the front... The Ferrari boys have the Back.. hehehehe My oponion.. Front to messy, But it'll sell like hotcakes because it's HSV and they'll market the fact that uses .00001L less than the oposition. |

We're lucky this wasn't the final design.......this particular chop renders the FG FPV's into oblivion. If this had of been the final product, methinks my bum would have traded up to one.

The chop posted by King Noddy is much better. In fact it is interesting to see just how some simple changes can make a car look much better. Drop the nostrils as well asn you'd be getting there. I think this is be cause it gets over the 'too busy' bit. THis is the first thing that hits you with this E2 and by takinga lot of that derivative rubbish out of it it starts to look a bit cleaner.
Unfortunatley i still think the trapezoidal grill is poorly integrated and i the blacked out bit is a bit colour specific. Also the poor proportions of the front bumper alluded too by others (it really is far too long/protruding) and the fact the styling does not work cohesively with the squred off VE body is not solved by such simple revisions. Still it shows what HSV could have doen it wasn't for their constant obsession with the donwright outrageous and ostenstatious. Less is more when it comes to car styling....but clearly the HSV designers never learnt that...

One of the most odd things they put on the front is the small bit of chrome. What is it doing there?

Sorry, but that's just plain wrong. Not only is it far too full of wannabe bling, it is as disproportionate as those rubber dolls they used to have on that TV show fast forward. Maybe HSV should do a comic relief benefit in honour of earning the title; The Homer series 2. HSV, you failed.

I dont know if that pic above has been PS'd to get more angle, but my god, its even worse than a Pontiac job!

I don't think you'd get flamed. To me the SS is ricey and this is rice pudding. Anybody who wants to stand out in the crowd will probably be drawn uncontrollably to the E2. |

I think that they have nailed their target market with these creations.
I think they will look a lot better in the flesh, just as the VE GTS did.( a car I would own) I just think they need a different photographer.

I also think that dark colours would tone it down. Then it may look a bit better, because all the bits and pieces would not be so visible.

I suppose the more photochoping you do, the more it starts to resemble something from FPV, the more people like it... go figure
