Hi to all. My name is frits, a have had to retire my ltd93 due it it getting flooded and to many problems starting to appear. I then went and bought a ltd94 in good nick 240.000 on the clock. Two problems with this one aircon not working so had a recharge and dryer done but only lasted 300 k (did that on my 93 and worked well for 5 years up to retirement), so wondering if worth changing compressors?? retired car 7 months ago. also wont change down gear for engine braking going down hills. This worked before, put my code reader on it and says inhibitor switch/aircon, took switch of and checks to specs ok, so maybe aircon related. So now I need to spend some time on forum to find where I can get some hints.
Happy motoring all; Frits |

Hi all, I've been lurking on these forums for a while now so I thought it was time I signed up and said g'day from the sunny West Coast! I have always had Fords but my last car, a BA Marlin ute, was a little to advanced for poor old me to work on. I recently sold the ute and picked up an NL Fairlane and am loving getting up to my elbows in a nice little V8. Plus the luxury leather interior and all the trimmings aren't making life any harder! I've already picked up a wealth of information on this site and look forward to much more in the future, cheers guys!

G'day everyone I'm George I've joined ur site to talk about things that may come up on my car that shouldn't . I own a 2011 FPVF6 I've just had some work done to the car like a 4 inch dump pipe and 3.5 inch exhaust with a custome tune . Wow amazing power on the dyno it shows 451 hp at wheels and. 336 kW at wheels great car to drive . But I have already received a engine light and now a comms failure the comms failure disappeared this morning and the engine light is still there . I've contacted the guys that did the upgrade and asked if I can go back and they will fix the problem just wondering if this has happened to any of u thanks

Hello everyone,
After years of thinking about buying a ute - I finally went for a 1997 Ford Courier 2.6 EFI. Loving the drive , just like it used to be - no power steering , no air and a good 30 minute drive turns my liver into a smoothie with all the bouncing up and down- love it. A few issues - oil leak under the rocker arm cover / coolant leak ( not sure from where) - having tracked down a Haynes manual 61030 Mazda Pick- ups 1972-1993 there is not a lot on the 2.6 EFI. Does anyone know whether there is a supplement? Or anywhere else I can go for more info on the 2.6 EFI? All help appreciated. every good wish, David. Molesworth Tasmania |

Hi All,
I am a new forum member looking to pick up info and advice on a few things and thought the best option would be to join you guys. My whole family is Ford related, although my daily driver is a Captiva (company supplied vehicle) I have a 1967 Mustang and a 1957 Thunderbird which both get plenty of weekend cruising in the warmer Melbourne months. My wife drives a focus XR5 and two sons both have XR6 Falcons. Anyway, I hope to get some great value from this forum and will post a couple of questions in the appropriate section. Regards to you all, Kiragus |

Hello my name is Adam and I'm an alc...wait, wrong club.
I have an 2008 fg f6 ute build no 0018. Bought it two years ago second hand and like a moron, payed for the 5 year extended warranty, which I am just about to void. Trying to go the safe and sensible way. It already has a gt bonnet, super pursuit bucket seats, no decals at all and black everything inside and out(apart from gunmetal dark argents and raccoon eyes. I just dropped it off at pedders to get super low and a camber kit and I am in the process of restoring it completely to look brand spankers body and paint wise which is a breast with black paint! The plans are though: Deep dish 20"s that fill the guards, plazmaman battery relocation and turbo side intake, stage 2 or 3 intercooler and piping, gearbox service and separate cooling unit added/heat transfer box scrapped. 4"cat, and then time to call xft and get the stage one package maybe with valve springs if I need them. Hopefully should be complete in the next few weeks will put some pics up as I go. And I'm going to wrap the car myself with a grey matte metallic. And then that's is it untill next tax time, thankyou all for reading I look forward to being in the ford community! Adam Oliver. |

Hey Guys and Gals,
I'm new here. Just wanted to say that since I've joined I have found the site very useful in assisting to diagnose clunks and rattles in my ba xr8 ute... Just wanted to say thanks for keeping such a great helpful site up and running. I'm looking forward to many years of happy ford driving. I've had loads of cars but this is my first ford. I'm loving the unique rumble of my cammed v8... In the upper revs it sounds amazing!!! Just needs a dyno tune... Possibly in the coming weeks... Thanks again for the great site! Sambot |

Glad I found this great site! My "Fords" are a 1993 Capri Clubsprint and a 1994 Fairlane NC Ghia. Perhaps someone can help with a little mystery? The petrol door on the Fairlane NC appears to be missing a contact on the inside of the door. Even when closed the warning arrow is lit on the dash. There are four lugs and I'm sure something should be there to make contact with the sensor. Can anyone help and tell me what should be there and how to fix it. Thanks Michael

Finally got back into another Falcon after owning 4WD'S for a while. Have a 2008 BF GT now and couldn't be happier. Always wanted a Phase 3 but who doesn't! One day, for now the aim is for 450kw to stick it up the local HSV mob! Haha |

Yeah I'm afraid this is true. A mate of mine had his fuel pump replaced and I thought it was strange to remove the diff to do the fuel pump but after I googled it, I found that to be common practise.

Hi - i am new to the Ford Forum but I must say not new to Fords - I have owned 7 new Fords the fastest and meanest being the 6 cylinder Ford Cortina (3 speed box) -we liked our Fairmont but must say that the present car Falcon BF Mark 11. ES. is by far the best car we have ever had and due to this, we are very reluctant to upgrade.
I first saw this model ES in the Melbourne Car Show in April 2007 and as a result purchased our car in May 2007. It came with $7000 extras and I do say the best of these is the German 6 speed gearbox (2 modes of auto and 1, manual) - the car we traded was a SR model -this had vertually the same engine with an 84 litre tank - the ES has an 64 litre tank and comparing the trip meters the SR said I had 560 klms to drive, whereas the ES the trip meter is nearly always above 700 klms - a big differnce, 20 litres of fuel and approx 150klms . This is the first car owned that has done above the 100,000 klms - now at 120,000 This is our first car that has done above the 100,000 |

Hi I am new to this forum. I own two Falcons a BA XT and a FG GT and I am having issues with both. I just had the centre bearing replaced on the BA tailshaft and now it vibrates quite a lot from about 60kmh up. The mechanic swears blind he did the job correctly and kept the alignment of the tailshaft perfect and he says the tailshaft now needs balancing. My concern is that the tailshaft balance was never an issue before replacing the centre bearing. The bearing was clunking but there was no vibration and my opinion is that for the tailshaft to be causing this bad vibration it would have to be a long way out of balance. I read some forums saying that it is caused by the tailshaft not being replaced in the exact same alingnment?

Hi was surprised to see Philip Island" mentioned - I was down that way during the school holidays - we live on the Sunshine Coast - I bought a Shell sign from an antique dealer, in Cowes.
I put it up above my Shell Bowser - he had a shell sign that I was interested in but had no way of getting back to Qld. Bill |
