Hi everyone!

Cars:
- 2009 BFIII Wagon, FG XR8 mags.
- 2010 MB Mondeo XR5 Manual.
- 2002 T3 TS50 Manual (1st and 3rd owner) 0073, Blueprint.

... yep, you read it correctly, 1st and 3rd owner of the TS50. Finally got her back after only owning her from new for 2 years then, pining away for the next 10.5 years, when out of the blue the 2nd owner txts to say she was for sale (I still have same phone number!), and thankfully the timing was right with regards bank balance. He had looked after her well, apart from some damage to the front bar and fender. All fixed now, and looking near perfect.

Only problem is, last Monday evening, she did a couple of valve springs. My mechanic still hasn't fixed it, is having trouble finding parts, only working out today that they don't make the originals anymore. Any advice on the best replacements appreciated, ... and was also wondering if its best to replace the whole set, or is it fine to just replace the 2 stuffed springs? (Yes, I can probably follow my nose and find this info in here somewhere ...)

Cheers!
Dan.

Hi there. I just joined the forum even though I've had my Ford for a bit over a year now.
I have a 2004 BA Falcon XR6T auto in Dark grey. It had about 142,XXXkms on it when I bought it and it was one of the cleanest ones I could find. It's completely stock apart from the wheels.
I joined up here to search for some technical info. The first fault I've experienced with the car is that the lights under the gear labels on the shifter have stopped working (I know, huge issue right?!! :P ). I haven't looked yet, but hopefully I'll find the fix here.

I have a 2009 FG XR6 and it has just stopped on me and it will not start it says SYSTEM COMMS FAULT. What the hell has happened. It tells me to take it to a Ford dealer. i have a complete 2009 G6E Turbo so parts are not a problem. Where do i start? i am a qualified Diesel Tech so i am mechanically competent.

Hi all;
First post on this forum and I'm now the proud owner of a 1999 au ford series 1. I bought this car of a mate of mine that i have know for the last 40 odd years. This is the second ford that i have owned as i used to own a old xb wagen that i used as a work truck for a number of years till i up graded to valiant wagen. Any way back to the au, this was bought from of a dealer in Melbourne and only had 45,000 Kms on the clock when my mate bought it. He did a few things to the au , mainly the roof lineing had droped and a couple of shock in the back.

The au had a few dings ( nothing major ) from the previous owner. A full service was also forth comeing. My mate had purchesed the au so as to transport his wife back and forth to hospital. Unfortuanly she pased away a couple of monthe ago.

My mate also had a Landrover discovery TD5 and his wifes own car and now the au had become supless to his needs.

This is were i purchesed the car and have never been happyer, car is very quiet, has a lot of power drives and handles ........well like a good car should do !!

As for the fuel consumption, On leaving Melbourne i filled the petrol tank up at calder thunder dome, set the cruse controle for 100 Kph and drove home, except for a stop in Bendigo, I pushed further homewards ( I live in Mildura ). After 527 Kms i had arived home and refilled the tank, and i got quiet a supprise to find that i only was able to squeeze in 38 Ltr of fuel .

This i later worked out to about 7.5 Ltrs per 100 Kms. This i found rearly good for a car that has a curb weight of about 1.5 ton. I'm realy impressed with the fuel consumtion. I used to have a 1985 Mazda 323 with a 5 speed box, and this was sold to my nice in Melbourne when i drove it to Melbourne to pick up my au ford and while this returned 34 Ltrs for the same trip( filled up in Mildura and a gain at calder ) the ford was way better and a lot more comfortable than the little mazda ( and when sold it it had only 83,000 Kms. I hade purchesed it from my wife Aurnt when she was unable to drive any more ).

So what now, well i have had most of the dings adressed by a panel beater and now the car looks a lot better.
I have traced a original cd radio for the au ( ebay ) and I'm just waiting for it to turn up and i will fit that and do away with the original cassette radio ( yuck ).

My ford NOW has only just under 48,000 Kms on the clock, so all good, lets hope i have aloooooong relationship with the au.

Hi I just bought an 06 bf mk1 falcon sr sedan. Had an ef 94 before that. Going to raise the bf with king hd raised springs and kyb shocks and fit a heavy duty towbar. I tow quite regularly. Boat and bike trailer. A fair bit of off road, hence the raised suspension. I need to do the diff bushes as they have had it, any recommendations or tips as I am going to do them myself?

Hi All, Picked up my 1997 Explorer yesterday and drove it home (130k).Was very happy with it, BUT somewhere along the way probably a lunch stop, the guts fell out of my remote so Im key locking at the moment. Apart from that the ride home was great. Beautiful looking vehicle and runs well. Had a terry previously a few years ago, so Im back into Fords Cheers Rusti

Gday all just bought an old Turbo 06 Territory, its my second Ford that Iv owned my first was an XD ESP which I dropped a poky stroked clevo in it a 9 inch tubed and 3/4 (done myself) and tricked up the C4 that was already in it. On pump fuel she done 11.76 back in the days when 12s were fast. My wife and I ride sports bikes but just had a little one so thought buying a Turbo Terri would be fun. Im currently absolutely disgusted in how slow she is but in time ill sort her her out. If any1 can guide me to where I can hire an on head valve spring remover would be much appreciated. Im extremely out of date with dohc fuel injection and the rest of the over engineered garbage theyve thrown into this car but am learning alot from reading what you guys are sharing and much appreciate it.

G'day all, this is my first time on this forum so i am not really sure how it all works. I am 54 and sadly had to give up work early due to some serious health issues. I own a 2012 Supercharged GTP and have had some work done on it so far by KPM, it produces 502.6 flywheel kw. Next week it goes back in for them to do more mods.

Can someone tell me about the rules for selling and buying through the forum please.

G'day Brenton and welcome to AFF.

You can buy stuff anytime you like but you can't sell until you have 25 posts.

Hey guys, thanks for the add. I have a question, not sure where to post. I am looking a buying a 75 landau and my question is matching numbers vs brand new 351. the price difference is not major (painted with new 351 slightly more) but I do intend to drive the car regularly. What difference in the future would matching numbers and original paint make. Cheers Scott

Right!

Where do I start...I'm in New Zealand. Control your jealousy, please.

>8-]

Almost every car I've owned has been a Ford apart from;

*A Legacy. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Disappointment!

*Now I have an E46 330i as a daily driver.

Although, there is a Mk iv Zodiac downstairs too. That's what motivated me to join. It has an AU XR8 engine/trans in it, and I need some help.

I see that I can't start threads yet, so how do I get started?

Well I'm a new member. I have a 2002 Fairlane Ghia Sportsman with now 160,000kms. I have driven Fairlanes for a large part of my working life, and the present on for my retirement. Didn't realise how much I liked australian Fords until recently. Plenty of time for reflection these days.

Hi Guys , I'm a NEWBY HERE !!! ..Just thought I'd drop in and say Ga-day !!...So Ga -Day !!!!.. Just to break the ice a little ..My real name is Malcolm .. most people address me by my nick name ...Choc.. & you are welcome to do the same. Thank-you for letting me in to the site, just a little history on myself; I reside in South-East Queensland and come from a farming family of six boys who are all FORD MEN. Mt father, brothers and myself fell in love with the XW and XY GT-HOs during the 70's and eventually acquired a couple of gems back in the day, they included an original white XW GT and an original XW GT-HO (reef green), among other Fords we owned back in those days was a couple of original 1965/66 GT Cortina's, an original XR GT, all gone now. With six mad Ford loving boys in the family you could imagine the line up at family gatherings, today they include; an original white XB GT four door, a south African XY GT fairmont, 1969 Mach 1 Mustang blue (390), a blue 1970 Mach 1 Mustang (351), a white 1967 Fastback Mustang (289), another 1967 Fastback Mustang (390 code), currently in the build stage, an clone of the famous white super Falcon of the 70's with a white racing engine, approximately 600 horse power (street and circuit), a Sierra V6, 2 door escort (plans to fit a 289 V8) for racing purposes, 1972 black Mach 1 Mustang, along with the daily drivers which consists of FG XR6's, BA XR6 Turbo, FG four cylinder and there's more Fords floating around the family somewhere but I can't remember them all. Just in closing, I've started new project myself which is an American 1963 Falcon 2 door, already have converted to right hand drive, slipping in a 302 Windsor, C4 auto, 8 inch LSD, all new front end and new red interior, may sound strange with the red interior but I plan to paint her in the Ford focus colour, electric orange. A little bit of customizing, Nissan R 33 tail lights, 68 GT Mustang bonnet scoops and custom grill, hope to run her without front or rear bars. So I may need a little help along the way with some technical issues, mainly with RTA regulations. I've rambled on enough!!! Thanks for letting me in guys and cheers for now, Choc.
