Overheard between Gunning and Yass on an XPT service once. Two German backbacker (window curtains closed) talking about all the kangaroo's (and Ramsay Street) they would see when they got to Melbourne zoo. Meanwhile out the window several large troops of the buggers were hopping beside the tracks.

I gave the house a good clean today and the Dyson picked up a whole load of **** from the carpets

Also got the car serviced and my bill was only one page for a change. Only issue was supposedly had a puncture so must of picked it up on the way there.

I was confused when they said I had 3mm of tread this time after saying I had 1.5mm last time and I was thinking WTF I have put in extra effort to make this set last how could that be there is plenty on it.

Must of put wrong measurement on. Always good because I have forked out a ton of $$$ for tyres with this car

Is that like the wiper blades (that you fitted last week) need replacing

Funny you say that because someone got done for wiper blades/arms today while I was waiting

It's usually the rear rego plate bulbs for me I got a bit suss though after I was getting a couple of those in close succession since I don't really do a lot of driving with lights on.

Not a lot of $$$ but a nice earner if you ping a few people.

There’s a good margin on one or two of the house brands, for blades.

I just was notified - after a radio silence that infuriated me - that my Argentinian sourced power window switch is coming DHL instead of regular parcel post. The sellers had not responded at all to my polite message (in Spanish) offering to pay extra for express freight so I’d figured it was just me vs their bronca. So the courier news definitely made me feel good.

Karma....
Sitting on 110km/h Tootling up the Hume today with stone, while passing a Burdetts tipper this clown behind decides to pass on my right and up against the rails. Geeze I thought as we curved towards the Warrenbayne turn off when we see an X5 Highway Patrol sitting in the middle divider area.
Bingo was his name.

I reckon 15 over the limit and dangerous driving charge and another fool off the road.

Hi Guy's
This Easter break just gone as most of you will know there's always double demerits on a long weekend.
Most of the streets where i live are 50 kmh. besides that the Police Academy is located In Goulburn you would have to be mad speeding.

I am on my way down town doing 50 kmh when a young guy with his mates goes past me like iam standing still.
I turn left in the main street which is Auburn Street where all the shops are and there is a Highway Patrol car lights flashing and guess who had been pulled up?

The young guy with his mates .

Always fun when you know where the mobile cameras are likely to be and some dumb **** blasts past you.

I can't remember the last time I even saw a HWP car or a speed trap around here. They'd literally make a fortune right on their doorstep in the CBD where I work with the BS 40/kmh limits. Just need one person to setup out front

Just re-reading and reminiscing about Lawyer Cat, the US attorney who entered a court case on Zoom with a “cute kitten” filter on his camera. In the era of Covid lockdowns and virtual meetings, it was true comic relief.

That breakfast is so Kiwi. I remember my grandfather calling porridge “burgoo”, I think it was a corruption of burghul, brought back from old wars.

All my employers' ships (and other shipping companies) are required to carry Manuka Honey amongst it's medical supplies, we have 2kg of the stuff in our ships Hospital, when it's close to expiring we draw straws on who gets it, West Australians excluded......

It dawned on me the other day that we now have a white Fairmont for a run around. And for a few years in the 70s our family car was a white XA 302 Tbar Fairmont which I loved as a kid.
I have a good memory for numbers and can recall most of the number plates fitted to the many cars that have come and gone so yesterday I punched the plate number of the old XA into SAreg website and discovered the old R-series plate is available.
A one off fee of $85 and my AU will be wearing our old XA plates in 10 working days time.

More to this story is I shared this info with a good friend last night. We've known each other since we were very young and it happens to be that when my dad sold the XA to make room for a Cortin wagon, he sold it to my friends dad, so the XA became his family's car also.
So his reaction to me securing those old plates was "But they're my dads plates!!"
Nah bud, my dad owned the Fairmont first, then he sold it to your dad, oh and your dad trashed it.
I still recall the day seeing the car in their driveway, unwashed, aerial broken. Had a look inside, console lid missing.... what have you done?!?

Anyway, finding those plates were available made me feel good

Local shopping strip, not long ago today. I am with my old bike, ancient Bell helmet from when helmets became mandatory, I'm picking up rubbish, bloke offers me a cigarette. I thank him, but no thanks. He would have been a lot less well off than me and it was a nice gesture from him.
