Its the 'push' we need to find other markets, hopefully before Aussies suffer. Surely there is a long term plan to stop coal mining in Australia, sorry in advance to those that depend on this industry but I am sure you are not that surprised that large scale coal mining isnt going to be going on for too much longer. Just the quality **** we need for steel manufacture I guess Its almost hypocritical to export is we are truly 'going green'. Maybe it then starts to force the coal burners to cleaner power generation ? Hopefully the ham producers dont complain/suffer from all those cheap lobsters |

It was called out as 'dont believe all you read' but I see that this 'artificial sun' thing isnt only China tech. Other countries are involved

thats like domination by playing hard to get had a girlfriend like that once , played so hard to get i gave up the chase so let me try to describe it this way i cant see them achieving what you see via the method they are perusing hence i dont understand what they really are trying to achieve by doing what they have done

Just as China would **** off our iron ore tomorrow if it were that easy. How this spat plays out might change a few things but they are actually paying more for coal at the moment which is just to stick it to us so never rule anything out I reckon. |

We learn more about how much China has 'invested' off shore every day.
Last week it was the vast amount of Aussie wineries they control. Now I heard on the radio today that they have a major stake in the QANTAS baggage handler operations. What will it be next week I wonder?

Thanks for the info about the Qantas baggages handlers.
Wow. Swissport is one of the companies involved. Swissport International Ltd. is an aviation services company providing airport ground and cargo handling services owned by Chinese company HNA Group. Owner: HNA Group Number of locations: 307 airports Number of employees: Around 66,000 Headquarters: Opfikon, Switzerland I wonder if Virgin Airlines has the same deal? Last week, the Inland rail project granted a $650 million contract to build a further 300 kms of railway to the Qld border. One of the two companies involved was John Holland Constructions, which was bought by the Chinese in 2016. John Holland website lists 99 construction projects in Eastern Australia....??? |

And this company is directly employed by ARTC (the pretend Fed Govco corporation) to maintain our railway lines, they have spent an unbelievable amout of time and money allegedly fixing the botched Sydney to Melbourne rail corridor since Feb, but so far have not started work for the inland rail project (Albury to Semour) due to start next year.

This will create a lot of incidents, as we all know, even if it is just for fishing they won’t stick to their area and will stray into Australian waters to fish.
You can imagine how they will react if their boats are intercepted in Australian waters. It is almost worth sending Australian fishing boats into their waters and let them set the precedent on what happens when caught.

It's will be a PLAN port dressed up as a fishing complex. The later is to effectively give the access to the CCP.
Assuming there ever is a legitmate fishing complex, I'm guessing it will go down something like this. They will promise to hire all the locals and then bring in people from back home to train them and gradually they will push out the locals and import the rest. I reckon PNG is gonna get a good old bait and switch, again assuming they get anything at all |

They're just being good neighbours and helping out the PNG fishing industry. Just because there's no PNG fishing industry nearby is totally irrelevant. |

More like they are going to be the neighbors, and I don't think there is anything sus in their purchase. : what else are they going to buy next door ? I wonder if the Aust Gov knew about this being on the market (sale) and not purchasing to keep 'others' out of the area. Hows the information sharing with our closest neighbors ? Surely worth the $200m Australian Gov is of course ****ing lame in this area considering the sale of assets, CPP infiltration of key positions etc. Last edited by Mr_G6ET; 16-12-2020 at 07:25 PM. |

Yes Australia has dropped the ball when it comes to PNG and the rest of the Pacific. They are really not happy with our climate change policy as is a lot of the world.
When it comes to PNG specifically we give a ****load of money and rightly expect to know how that is going to be spent and what oversight there is. It was only recently we broke with this policy and gave a concessional loan of nearly half a billion dollars for direct funding largely seen to curry favour. Australia really has no choice here if we want to keep China at arms length because China is all to happy to spend up big. |

So the amount is not really an issue at the moment more that I reckon China are probably willing to dole it out more freely in a country that has corruption issues. PNG are free to do what they want but they need to understand the risks and potential consequences of getting into bed with China. Last edited by MITCHAY; 16-12-2020 at 08:01 PM. |

China is not happy about the soaring iron ore price and are trying to cut a deal while they are also paying more for lower quality coal due to their games
Why on earth would we even try to cut them a deal while these BS trade bans are going on? What's funnier is they apparently renege on fixed contracts when spot prices fall so I say **** them |

The downside is that assuming demand stays the same their steel exports price would go up but I don't know how exposed to that we are and if we have capacity to make more here. |
