I meant the overall feeling of pulling the handbrake on when needed, another thing with electronic handbrake could be that it would be easier to accidentally press the button to release it causing the car to potentially roll maybe.

Electric handbrake buttons generally won't work without the foot brake being held down at the same time, to prevent those kinds of accidents.

It's very difficult to get it to the "vent" position, trying to get the window to open just a few cm can take a few goes and a bit of cursing.
GM's standard window switch design has a nice feature to get around this issue- it's a two-tiered switch. With normal pressure on the switch, the window moves as if it's not auto. With slightly more pressure, it 'clicks' a step further and the window operates automatically.

Same as BMWs and VWs I've driven. This kind of thought in design is a very good thing for "everyday" life.

Same feature that the AU's have, my Ghia and my Son's XR have it too but I don't think my BA had it

Yep my Focus has it too.

The electric hand brake was a big reason I didn't get a vf gts. In a manual I just didn't like it at all.

Half on or half off? I've never really driven like that, but the electrical handbrake also has hill hold functionality too.

Generally it's not. In the VF you need to have your foot on the brake before the electric handbrake can be released. There is no roll back issue either as the VF has the hill hold function. Even my T5 Transporter van has the hill hold function. Any ideas if this is coming to the new falcon? My guess is no.

Its taken a while for me to get used to it but our C4 has the electronic brake and its not that bad. And yes it holds the brake for 2 secs or something on a hill.

Although jumping between it and my falcon I still go for the handbrake on the floor..

That rear shot is p0rn Nikked. This thread makes me think fiscally irresponsible thoughts.

Cant believe a Falcon looking this good is going to have such a short life.

Well, on further investigation, the little corolla does have the same two tiered switch setup for both up and down. I can crack the window open however much I like now.

Company cars, who reads the owner's manual anyhow. Haha.

You can buy cars with manual winders still? I thought they were standard even going back to AU (1998)?

Love the auto up/down Windows in my fiesta st.

If you were dumb enough to have your head sticking out the window while you hit the switch it stops itself anyway.

So back on track, what do you think the marketing budget would be for the new falcon, considering the trend of the past few years? Its sad.

back on topic,

just found some awesome new pic on motoring.com.au

Heaps of covered up pics, looks like the g6e is getting a tan interior.

The xr models show off the new drl pretty well, pretty much the same as the Sydney teaser, so will look awesome

Territory looks pretty much the same

Image 16 there shows really well how the XR headlight DRL's will look. I notice too it has 335 rims on it - could they be the 9" rears?

Nice! Yeap the XR lights are going to look pretty sweet!

IIRC the last time I saw a tan interior was on the BA2 Ghia, saw one from the factory but not in the wild.

Looks like the headlights have a similar design to the current territory, with sculpted chrome details under the refactor buckets, pictures just aren't clear enough to show if they are indeed DRL's in the buckets, or a separate element...

Going to alter my rear end chop!

Looks like the bonnet camouflage is really trying to hide the dimensions of the bulge (ie that it is wider than previously)

There are two pads on each side of the bulge stuck to the bonnet

I mean really..thats not even trying.
I hope they ditch the grid/ grille thing they have going on. I hate it.
Takes ages to clean properly and doesn't even look good. I have to use a flat head inside a cloth to put trim detailer on properly.
Flat FPV style is much better.
