Nikked the xr badge should be on the left too I reckon if they're following suit from FG mk2. And you need reverse sensors. :P. Looks great though top work.

This is what spyman is trying to say with the bootlid section of the taillights... and i would like to see the falcon badge back on the rear (unlike the fg MK2)

Regarding multiple XR8 models.
Whilst plans change, Sinead Phipps mentioned in the FPV closure thread that "the XR8 program is one single model, sedan only" (http://fordforums.com.au/showpost.ph...3&postcount=34) so from this I doubt there will be '315' and '335' versions. I would say something similar to the "Luxury Pack" is more likely (see Note 1), but this would not involve different engine tunes, probably just different wheels and maybe a brake upgrade. This would also (theoretically) allow it to be fitted to the XR6T, meaning better economies of scale. In that scenario you have to wonder about that pack being offered for the G6ET. Maybe that would just make to much sense, therefore Ford would never do it. Note 1: Call it "RSpec"?, Ford already have the badges, saving on Development costs and the 'name' is already recognised by us Ford fans. |

I am sooo pumped now! I have convinced my 75 year old father to buy himself an XR6 on release. He deserves it and it will be the last new car that he buys. How bittersweet, being that it is also the last model Falcon. Soak it all up people and don't be negative, this is the last time we will experience a lead up to a new Falcon. This thing is going to look fantastic. Enjoy!

Looks like they have gone a step back with the lens...more like a BA, not crystal like the BF/FG...

That's the way it is with the led tech they are using. It's like a tube with a bright led at each end.

Am wondering how many 'swinging buyers' there are out there? Ford's targeted their Loyal Blue Oval enthusiasts with GT-F and it sold out. XR8 could go either way. V8 SC fans seem clear on their choice, but am wondering what the general percentage is in the population?? 20% Ford Only, 20% Holden only, 60% prostitutes? Not sure, but a bit of bling and some flimsy 'creature comforts' and some buyers are anyone's. Literally. Look at the tin-can soft-roaders on the road, compared to 10 years ago. A sports V8 is arguably an enthusiast's car, so price may or not play a lead role. Thoughts?

Apologies if this topic has already been covered, (I haven't kept up with the thread)
Any possibility of the xr6, g6e and xt having the territory bonnet? Similar to all vf bonnets? |

Due to my current vehicle circumstances I am waiting patiently for the new XR8 so that I might make a more informed decision as to if I'll go where my heart wants to and put the money down on a superchanged bent eight or if I go NA with a VF Redline with its "We just raided the Mazda parts bin" lights and narrow rear end - which I personally am no fan of. I do hope they are about the same pricepoint or at least within five grand of each other. If they are, then it is a no brainer for me as I'll be elbowing people out of the way to get my hands on my last ever brand new Falcon, which will be my eighth (including two Fairmont Ghias) out of the twenty something cars I've owned since the mid 80's. I'm very appreciative of the little tidbits of genuine info I am able to mine out of here as while I wont bore you all with what "I" want, it is nice to see a few nice touches such as Brembos, 335KW, leather, 275's and a normal handbrake lever all getting a mention from contributors that seem to be more on the inside than most. This, coupled with what looks to me to be a drop dead gorgeous front and rear sheetmetal change (Nikked, you REALLY need to look at doing something like that for a living mate, it is that good!), means to me that as someone who is ready to buy right now that I need to really try harder to be patient for October to roll around. I'm not fussed if there is no huge wholesale change to the interior as the high spec leather interior of my wife's FG is a really nice place to spend some time and I see no need to reinvent the wheel. Y'see, I just couldn't live with myself if I wandered off to the darkside and went and made a biiiiiiig mistake before all the cards were on the table now, could I? Bonn, I don't think I am alone in where I stand but couldn't see any more than about a 10-15% swinging purchaser out there. Then again as I rapidly approach 50 I am reminded constantly by my immediate family just how "out of touch" I can be. Last edited by Taily; 30-06-2014 at 08:57 PM. |
