I think you can get an extended warranty in US and AU for a mclaren for up to 12 years
I've heard of people buying them s/h and getting that warranty transferred.

Nothing like fancy napkins and a carpark close by

I think I just saw the coolest car ever just then. Chopped and channeled model t roadster pickup (the back bed houses the rad), with a rotary engine. Nothing up front except a tiny engine and tiny fuel tank.

Seller in Canada advertised it as a go kart LOL. That think would be mean, light and fast.
So simple, so much fun even though nothing special. Anyway, it would be a blast for 10km until it runs out of fuel LOL.

$10k canadian if you lived over there

You don't need a McLaren to get that park - you need a disability permit.

Let me tell you what a McLaren does... I drove one a few years back in western Sydney.. people were hanging out of cars riding along side taking photos. Everyone at the set of lights had something to say.

I pulled up at a cafe that could see the carpark.. just about everyone got out of their Seat to watch "who gets out".. the owner of the cafe was fully booked but he pulls a table from somewhere and had it setup before I could say hello. Perfect service. Go to a hotel and park at the front door no problem.

Imagine if I pulled up in a VN group A (also paid $400k). Fully booked mate F-off.
I'll take things that never happened for $500 Alex.

Was that the same day you drove a Ferrari F40 and Lamborghini Countach, hooked up with a supermodel and landed on the moon?

Yeah I was completely sick and tired of mine failing me so basically gave it away. (cost more to fix than its worth at the time)

Everything was going wrong like it simply fell apart after being a brilliant car to me for a decade prior.

Still I'd have definitely kept it if I knew used prices now worth much more......ah well

CLM232 is on the block tomorrow, definitely a case of wishing I had the shed space. Anyone care to speculate on the hammer fall?

Also wondering if the PCM is “wiped” at decommissioning or whether it’s possible to still access logged data - ABS activation count, number of limiter hits, maybe top speed?

I say $31K. Driven hard but well serviced (as if you can find one with less Ks or hasn't been driven hard...)

The only time mine (FG2 tho) has hit the limiter was when I forgot it was in paddle mode (remember, I've got paddles) but not particularly under any actual load. The I6T is so smooth, you actually don't notice. I'm not sure it stores that detail in the logs... If it does, then anyone looking would be surprised by my top speed recorded. I've gone a lot faster in my prior 2 new cars, just not got there as quickly.

I thought this topic deserved a new thread, but I've been proven wrong again. Lucky my wireless keyboard broke (changed batteries, still dead) in the middle of my typed response to the 400Z (Nissan Z) thread. I think I'm buying one despite the lack of love. Keeping the FG2 too tho.

My ‘01 Alfa logs all that nonsense of how much you’ve “hooned”, so I’m sure even a newer Falcon can store such data. It’s the slightly quirky provenance of CLM232 that appeals to me - not any “cop chip”.

Crazy, ex police XR6T's always used to range between 18-26k for any I saw sell at auction. Good value for an 18 months old car at the time, but I could never bring myself to buying one knowing how much they get thrashed.

Having a few family members that are are cops, some of their stories of what their cars go through are epic. But someone obviously sees the value in it.

Had to laugh dude, my old man wouldn't let me get even a 250cc bike, he said "son, you'll only own it for 5 minutes, the time it takes to get from the motor registry to half way home"

He was right too, I was freeking mad, there was one speed for me, flat out, in or on anything, including girls...

$45,750 now.

Mine's only got 53K on it, not 86K!, time for me to buy a new daily!

Wow, that's just crazy.

Yes, incomprehensible for what they (Figari) are!
