Best thing about it: small, reasonably nippy with a few revs onboard, nice design inside & out.
History: owned a mildly modded 1991 Subaru Legacy RS for 11years (still miss it 6yrs on...), bought a 2004 Outback H6 (great car but the missus didn't like it) sold that & drove around in her 1994 Celica for a couple of years before buying a 2013 Audi A1. The Audi is such a nice car and goes really well for a tiddler, but after 2.5 years and 2 s-tronic clutch-pack replacements (under warranty) it was time to move on. Decided to buy the Fiesta as it's almost lineball in size with the A1 but bigger inside. For sure it's not as flash or as quick but it's cheap and cheerful. And we paid cash so no more car repayments. The Fiesta has 152K on it with a full service history, it's been garaged all it's life and is in really good nick. I want to keep it that way, I want to keep it regularly serviced and make small improvements here and there (I'm a born tinkerer) to keep it interesting.

Purchased 2008 Fiesta WQ for youngest to learn to drive.
Trying to fix up boot lid actuator and rear window heater not working.
Love these cars :-)

Sadly, last one was a write-off after being rear-ended waiting at traffic lights :-(

Hi Guys, I am after some info RE front seats for a wp-wq Fiesta.
Surprise surprise, the tilt levers are stuffed, so I am in need of new seats. Can anybody on this forum tell me what other alternatives I have, other than original wp-wq front seats? surely other seats would fit this model car?

have 2006 ford fiesta,wq
have major problem, car goes into "limp" mode and depending on what speed i am doing i can get to a safe area to stop, turn it off and restart again. its getting to a stage where i am fearing for my life when i am driving, thinking someone will drive and rear end me, have anyone heard of this happening

Greetings all. I've recently purchased a 2006 fiesta for a family run yearly Sbox derby.

Any help you guys could give me to win the competition would be appreciated.

Only restriction is that i'm on a very tight budget because of the rules of the competition.

Bull bar under the front bumper
Leaf blower attached to the air box (makes noise that's about it)
Realistic ken block paint scheme...
custom snow/mud chains.

Hi, recently purchased a 2008 WQ XR4 for my daughter as she wanted to learn to drive in a manual.

Joined this forum hoping to get some information on gearbox options. Gearbox jumps out of 2nd gear when decelerating and crunches when going into 3rd. Gearbox oil replaced with Penrite PRO GEAR 75W-90 Full Synthetic, which did improve the 3rd gear crunch somewhat.

The only alternative appears to be the MTX75 gearbox, but have not been able to find a kit to facilitate/enable the swap out, and it appears some of the frame has to be cut away to fit the MTX75, so I'm not sure how I'd go in regards to engineering certification.

It appears the only other options are a sequential IB5+ out of England, which would probably cost more than what I paid for the car, or have the current unit rebuilt.

Q1) Is there any other workable and stronger alternative to replace the IB5+?

Q2) Can the IB5+ gearbox be built stronger, and if so what are the parts I need and where can I purchase them from?

Q3) Apparently the diff is a weak point. Recommendations for a good quality replacement Limited Slip Diff which would improve handling?
I'm not sure if the information is correct, but I have been told some LSD's can turn a FWD vehicle into an under-steering pig.

Q4) Recommendations for someone who can rebuild the IB5+ stronger? I'm in Tamworth NSW and would be happy to drive as far as somewhere like Newcastle, or alternatively have the box removed and shipped to whoever does the rebuild best.

The XR4 is great little car and reminds me in many ways of my Mini Cooper S when I was a teenager. It would be great if I could sort it for her.

Hi All, I have just bought a 2008 WQ Fiesta as a run around car instead of driving my 4x4 and what a great little car. Even though its a auto I am light on the pedal and it gets great mileage for such a small tank. I bought from a mate with 224,200km on clock and service history. These little cars handle better than I thought and the brakes are incredible. I am looking forward to gaining much needed knowledge on this zippy little car from you guys. I live in the Hunter Valley NSW and my name is Dave.

My name is Steven and I am an IT specialist living in Ermington, NSW. My nickname is Retro as I seem to be stuck in the late nineties-early naughties when it comes to car choice. My current daily drive is a Ford Fiesta Ghia WP 2004 and I love driving this small, zippy car. It was bought from a dealer in Liverpool and,apart from some small hail damage, it came with log books and a complete service history. I have driven a number of private and company cars over the years but I have never had so much fun zipping around in this car. And now with fuel prices going up, my purchase is justified!

Hi Dave,
I totally agree with you! From the first time I drove the 2004 Fiesta Ghia WP, I was hooked on the performance. Mine had 103,000 on the clock and the car looks and feels like its near new. I drive the car hard for enjoyment and I am averaging around the 9.5 ltrs/100 klms range! I am not too fussed about fuel consumption as you can see. As a run around car, I do not think you can get any better than an early model Fiesta!

Worst thing: Stock other than the flex pipe, paint job pretty average (poorly maintained)
Money no problem Mod: All of them!

* Previously owned a 2007 XR4, moondust silver with black stripes, rear ended whilst waiting for a light change. Paint was pretty much immaculate, but the drivetrain had an extra 100k km on it so I feel like it was a pretty good exchange!

Hello to all members and thanks for adding me.

I've been surfing these forums for sometimes and I've always found very helpful and life saving information.

Previously I owned many cars from both Europe and Australia such as Fiat 850 Sport Coupe, Fiat 500, Peugeot 205, Renault Clio, Opel Corsa, Opel Cadett, Opel Rekord, two Holden Barina.

Now I'm a very happy owner of a 2006 Ford Fiesta with only 47,000Km on the odometer, I love the car but unfortunately the dealer & insurance warranty cheated on me, as usual.
I just bought the car and I discovered so many mechanical problems but fortunately I'm a DIY guy so I'm trying to save some money on small repairs.

I'll create the right threads and ask you guys for help, in the mean time I wish you all a great day!

Samuel here - I have a 2009 Fiesta WS Zetec manual since new, and grew up in an Falcon EA II when everyone around me had Camrys and Corollas.
Started looking more deeply through these forums to upgrade the audio in the Fiesta rather than throwing money for someone else to do it (and hopefully learn a few things along the way).
