#BREAKING NEWS#
This just in. A story has been trending on twitter and will soon be confirmed by the Victorian chief medical officer. Major landscape gardening projects will be the next to be impacted by COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Earlier today Victorian premier Daniel Andrews would not be drawn on rumours major landscape gardening projects would soon become unavailable, except to say, 'Stay home, wash your hands or we will fine you. It's what Victorians expect.' For FordForums.com.au members only my business is able to offer a limited number of major landscape gardening projects. Please do not delay! The first ten, $50000+ contracts signed and paid for (Cash or Pay Pal), will insure those members will not miss out. Do not want to spend the whole of your quarantine period peering out through a gap in your; toilet paper, rice, flour and tinned bean stock pile at a dated landscape? PM me now for my special price!

I don’t know if it’s due to the season or the virus madness, but this week I’ve really felt like I’m swimming upstream in dealing with people. The amount of ill-focused, no-attention-span, no cohesive train of thought, no commitment to logical forward planning... Hoarding bog rolls makes perfect “sense” against this backdrop.

IMHO
If things got really serious, so many people would perish due to their own lack of understanding of the situation at hand. Many people on this planet lack the ability to adapt to challenging circumstances. It's not stupidity but taken out of their comfort zone, some individuals would definitely struggle to adapt and survive.

They learnt alright - they learnt to make sure they were not caught out like last time due to the hoarders.
Wife was at shops last night, saw 3 x 36 packs in backseat of car beside her, saw half the TP shelf empty and made the decision to grab a pack she otherwise wouldnt have bought. We're in Adelaide FFS. |

If you only buy on an 'as needs' basis, when you go to the supermarket to get your normal supply, and there's none there because everyone has been panic buying, what do you do? Sure, you may have this warm feeling because you haven't contributed to the problem, but you are the one who will miss out. It's a catch 22.

Exactly. Last time I extended my “float” by one 12-pack. Not 72 rolls or a roomful. Once the shops had a handle on the hoarders I was able to maintain this float, scaling it back to 8 rolls a fortnight ago.

Was at Coles yesterday and spotted a lady of Indian appearance with four 32 packs in her trolly. initial thought was hoarding but then it dawned on me that quite often there's more than one family living in the same house.
Perhaps I shouldn't just jump to conclusions

I was just at Coles Chipping Norton NSW and the TP shelves were stripped.
Looks like I've been caught out twice now. |

I can't disagree with you. Definitely feels like double standards However my wife was there in the moment and I bet she was recalling the drives she took all over the suburbs searching for a 4pk. Every day visiting multiple shops with no luck. I really don't blame her for doing what she did, she's looking out for me and the fam, and avoiding the headaches she had last time. She was sensible enough not to fill the backseat with 150 rolls. |

Are the online sites like Fleabay, Gumtree still blocking sales of bog rolls?

News headlines on Ch 7 Adelaide tonight. "Supermarket shelves stripped bare of toilet paper as South Australians prepare for a second wave of Corona virus cases"
Once again, the media is inciting irrational panic buying? IMO, the government should be stepping in to prevent such careless reporting which exasparates a bizarrely ridiculous self created crisis. That's all I've got time for, I'm off to the shops for a couple of pallets of crapper roll.
