As the car's gone now, would you like me to take another pic of the yard with no car?

I went past Friday last week, it definitely wasn’t there. The whole yard looked almost like it wasn’t operating much at present.

But in keeping with the topic.... Went to get the aircon checked the other week and my Auto sparky still uses his XD wagon as a daily.

I don't know why but you sure don't see many '64 Ferrari 250 GTOs any more.

I’ve seen three Triumph Stags recently. A rough yellow one driving cityward on Epping Rd Macquarie Park, a red one broken down on the Roseville Bridge westbound, and a dark blue one on Warringah Rd, eastbound.
There can’t be many left, that I’ve missed! |

1975 I sold 2 Mini Coopers and load of camera gear to buy a Stag, what a beast of a machine. then sold that for a Fiat 124 Pinnafarina convertible. only 3 in NZ at that time

I remember growing up and there was one down the street from my house. British Racing Green if I remember correctly. Seems like decades since i've seen one though. The junk the UK manufacturers were pumping out during the 70's and 80's tended not to live very long lives.

I've got a Triumph Stag in factory Mallard. It took years to sort out all the mechanical and electrical gremlins. Good examples are getting rare now. Fun car to drive though !

XF ute.
Maybe not super rare, but they are in this condition. I see this particular one some mornings. Super neat and clean. Looks like its not even 12 months old. |

Also: late model Torana sedan (1978 UC???), full reg, driven by old bloke who might well be the original owner; car was missing the 'SL' or whatever badge from the rear. (I was going to start a new thread on old blokes/one-owner cars ... )

I have sold three panel vans this year. Now becoming collectable and worth a few dollars. Keeping the XG XR6 ute for a bit longer the prices are strong.

Can I ask what you got for the PVs?...ignore me if you want to keep the info to yourself. I went and looked at a 91 XF PV a fortnight ago.....the amount of rust rules it out as a potential. It wasn't stupid rusty but more than what I wanted to deal with. It was well priced at just over 4k. A very neat one was over 3 times that which I did not bother to investigate. |

Today: two Galaxies at a house in Melbourne's inner north, both the same metallic (?) silver/blue, original looking/unrestored ; Peugeot 404 and a Colt Ralliart on the highway.

The Vedette had a small flathead V8 (based on the Ford V8 60, I think). I saw one at a car show a few years ago and the owner had fitted a Lexus (?) supercharger to it. With a car like that he could be a member of a Chrysler club
(Simcas assembled here by Chrysler?), Simca club and a Ford club. |
