Walking back from the station I could hear what sounded like a Ducati. I thought it was a new-ish one but then he came past and it was a seventies 750GT (or GT750?). He passed me a couple more times and I made sure that he saw my 'thumbs up', at which he smiled. Those Conti 'silencers' sound great.

A Russian spacecraft has crashed into the Moon after it spun into an uncontrolled orbit, Russia's national space agency Roskosmos says.

Roskosmos said it had lost contact with the unmanned craft shortly after a problem occurred as the craft was shunted into pre-landing orbit.

"The apparatus moved into an unpredictable orbit and ceased to exist as a result of a collision with the surface of the Moon," Roskosmos said in a statement.didnt know Russians knew about Monty Python hello polly sketch

I bought a $47 uncut remote key for a Peugeot from Fleabay, 100% a knock-off but today was able to both learn the transponder to the body module and train the remote. Have to say, I was totally cynical about both of these possibilities beforehand.

Now to get the blade cut, and I’ve a sub-$100 remote key with the looks plus function of a $430 genuine part.

Something interesting i found out today.
So my kid asked aboot getting a new screen protector for his phone. Yes there is ebay, but otherwise no shop sells them anymore for his phone as its a couple years old.
So if anyone is having the same issue, ie old phone and wanting a screen protector but not wanting to order off ebay, turns out officeworks at the print shop do custom ones. I asked the lady today if she could do one for an a21s. Answer was no, you have to bring the phone in. I wasnt dirty about that, but still, told my kid. Balls in his court.

Did my tax return last week. Hearing all the stories in the media and on here about people who normally get a return having to pay this year, I was expecting to have to pay, too.

Pleasantly surprised to find I was eligible for a refund. To top it off, the refund was sufficient enough to even cover the cost of the accountant.

I'm happy if I can at least break even from this process.

Money turned up in my account last night, so I've now just donated the balance (plus a little extra) to Foodbank Victoria. Knowing that my donation is going to help fund 300 meals for vulnerable people makes me feel good.

Manage a tidy reverse park first go at the local shops’ underground carpark last night. Right hand down, slotted it in without shuffling.

Parking neatly is something I’ve struggled with in more recent times; it was nice to have a good result with so little apparent effort.

This also makes me feel good - last wheel clean for the present job.
I think they’re forged wheels, the inside is fairly smooth. Most have cleaned up readily.

successful reverse parking is a silent silent way of gloating that I am better than you.
I enjoy it but never realised how important those green yellow lines are until you don't have them.

I was speaking to a receptionist today. I was telling her one of the harmless things I'd do to new apprentices that i found funny. So what that was, was in the car between jobs i would start to sing wiggles songs. When asked why, id say the wiggles are one of, if not the most successful australian band. Typically at the next job id find said apprentice humming a wiggles song.
So anyhow, upon going back about my business after chatting to the receptionist i walked off singing big red car. An hour or so later in passing she was humming, stopped and gave me a blank look.
Hey, i found that funny.

Betwixt last night and today, did a full strip back and redo of the paint protection on my daily drive. (Ice Mint BA Fairmont).
Wash, Full iron decontamination mit clay rubber n Bowden's Three Way, Wash, Stone chip rust conversion n touch up, Bowden's Paint Cleanse & Restore, Bowden's Carnuba Body Wax, Bowden's Fully Slick.
It looks a million dollars (to me) and I feel so accomplished finally giving it a crack. (I've had the gear for ages but been too scared to start it. Finally bit the bullet and got 'er done!)

It took me about 9.5 hours all up... But just the silky feel of the paint gives me an ear to ear grin and a most satisfactional feeling!!

(It will no doubt rain tomorrow or a flock of seagulls will fly inland for no real reason when I drive it to work).... But I guess that can be my post in the Geez I hate that thread..

Cheers, Tony

Made my final child support payment today. It's just another end to a phase of the transition that seems to go on forever.

After we split, the ex had claimed that she had the majority care for our daughter, hence getting more money from me. I didn't mind tho, as my earning potential was always much greater than hers and I wanted her to be established in her own place after our separation. But, now that our daughter is 18, payments cease. And now the ex has got engaged, it's time for someone else to carry the load.

But he was like a politician, he dodged the questions by answering with a convoluted reply that said nothing. I thought they could have got into him a bit more.
Kept saying he had a plane to catch but somebody on the panel quipped "it'll probably be late anyway".

I've never understood the reason why so many people dislike for Joyce. Sure, he can be like a politician, but what large company CEO isn't? I also can't understand why people have an issue with Qantas making money: that's what every business is out to do. Sure, there's a balance point between outright greed and making money, but it seems to me that he's done a reasonable job.

I'd be interested in the views of those who don't like him and why. (Keeping it respectful, of course.)
