In order..

Jackaroo > Auto mechanic > motorcycle mechanic / race fabrictor / engine builder

Then came the IT revolution...

PC builder > network engineer > solutions architect > infrastrcture architect

Used to be cool, now I'm a nerd :P

Yeah ive got a BEng in mechanical engineering. If I got a degree anyone can!! :evil_laug

My jobs pretty easy. I design attachments, mainly quickhitches, but also buckets, rippers etc, for excavators. Just sitting in front of a computer drawing all day, nothing to it.

But seriously, you want to be pretty good at physics and maths to get a degree (in mechanical eng anyway) as it is essentially applied physics. The drawing/design is only a very small part of it. And then I think it depends on the university as to how hard it is to pass.

If you are a contractor or have your own business your still open to being sued. And the money still isnt very good. It all depends on what industry and company you work in.

I'm still a student at Uni.

My job consists of bludging, procrastinating, being lazy, sleeping, playing pc games, not working, looking for a job half-arsed and surfing the web.

It's a very demanding job and takes up most of my week. I just wish there was more "me time".

I guess that's the sacrifice you've gotta make.

1st year sparky, $430 a week isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I want to eventually become self employed somehow in the future but those prospects are too scary to think about right now.

Being cleaner actually pays fairly good apparently. I think my mates were earing $20+/hr while I'm stuck on $14 or so. Damn I can't wait till I get a decent paying job so I can put serious $ into my car. 200awkw is the aim at the moment : but you always go over budget with these things!

I only stay in this job because it is very secure and flexible no matter how **** the pay is. I would bet my life on it I would never get fired

The pay is good at about 20 bucks an hour. The only problem is that I only get to work about 7-8 hours a week.

I'm hoping to reach 170rwkw . KW are a lot harder to come by on an N/A car :.
