Being a Melbournian, I enjoy watching almost all sports, especially when they’re being played in Victoria, why is it that channel 7 stop broadcasting the Australian Open in HD in favour of the news, I don’t need to see the news hosts in high def, not only that but why is it they didn’t cover any of the Rugby League World Cup on their HD channel either..?
Thirdly, why is it they broadcast the news on 3 of their 4 channels when there’s more than 1 game of tennis being played? I thought 7 was good with sport, until this year Last edited by Lunch; 21-01-2018 at 06:20 PM. |

Why is it I can never go to my mums house for lunch without copping a list of things that need to be fixed. Just because i drive a ute with ladders and tools does not mean in my personal time I enjoy fixing things.

She has a ladder and i set her up with a toolkit that can sort most basic jobs. Im not the only male who visits her. Her boyfriend could probably change a downlight. So could my brother. Parts and things i loaded her cupboard with stock from work as a hint to ask anybody. But no. Its like its a conversation starter when she has friends over and they enjoy a cheese platter and im working away.

Thats interesting. My sister had a licence but let it expire because the roads aggravated her anxieties. I know there is such a thing as public transport, but the freedom of not being tied to a timetable and being able to go wherever seems more enticing

My brother and myself like to take my remaining grandparents out to new places every few weeks. It keeps their minds active. One thing my grandpa always says is the day you stop learning. He typically changes the second part of his saying.

This is just from this morning's commute, but applies to most days....
Why is it...... - On a straight road, doing 60km/h, a car jams on it's brakes, and just before a driveway, flicks the blinker on for one or 2 flashes? This seems to be more & more common these days - a significant delay from when the brakes are applied, and the blinker finally turns on. Wake up morons, you don't need your foot on the brake for the blinker to work!!! - A car that has sat in the right lane for 4-5km (sometimes 20km or more) on a dual lane road, has to jam on the brakes and come to a complete stop to cut across the left lane to their exit or driveway. I've seen the same fool do it 3 times this month already.... - In a line of traffic (2 lanes) slowly crawling (about 5-10km/h) why is there always some fool who sits out near the lane divider up the middle, to deliberately block the odd motorcycle that wants to (legally) lane split. FFS they're not slowing you down! - Someone spends thousands of $$ on a ricebox, with the obligatory wings, lowered suspension, sticker pack down the door, and massive wheels (with far too skinny tyres), that's supposedly able to go fast, yet at every roundabout & corner they are slower than the rest of the traffic around them, and they can't even keep it in their lane! God help us if they were actually doing some sort of speed..... The one I followed this morning was half a car over into the 2nd lane on the roundabouts, and went out of his marked lane by at least a tyre width on the slightest of bends. - That someone sitting out in the right lane of a 2-lane freeway, in very light traffic, dawdling along, sees a car come up behind them, so they change lanes to the left, let them pass, and then immediately jump straight back into the right lane, when there's NOTHING at all around them! I'm seeing this more & more these days. |

Sick of knobs on Harleys revving their boat anchors in my ear while waiting for the light to go green. and yes they are slowing me down, I can usually get away just as, if not quicker.

I don’t mind bikes splitting lanes, I do my best to spot bikes and give them plenty of room, my brothers sole mode of transport is a bike and it’s because of this that I am the way I am but, I do agree, anytime I’m in pole position and a bike pulls in front of me I get annoyed, I like how fast my car accelerates and while I don’t give it the beans at every red light, I still like to pull away quick, otherwise why bother having a quick car, can’t use it anywhere else so, WHY IS IT when a bike splits lanes at a red light, he always chooses to sit in front of me?

You could also ask why is it so when you are slowly cruising up to the red light so that you can catch it as it goes green while you are still moving and get away early, some ***** in an old Camray or similar changes lanes at the last second, blocks you, and then takes about 10 seconds to get going when the lights change.

I can agree with slow bikes off the line at the traffic lights (and don't start me on gutless step-thru scooters) but they are the minority - most bikes will get away far quicker than most cars.
When there's 2 lines of 30 cars each, crawling up a hill at no more than 10km/h, letting the guy (legally) slip up the middle isn't doing any harm, yet some choose to deliberately position themselves there - occasionally as blatant as swerving out to the line markings when they see a bike in the side mirror. It's the bikers who go up the gutter/shoulder who should be stopped. |

Why is it when there are road works and a lane is closed people blast up the empty lane then try to push in? The que to get through is behind me.
