Sorry Tassie, changed our minds and went to the cafe, Social Brew instead.....
but didn't disappoint you, ordered a Southern Fried Chicken, slaw and pickled gherkin burger with sweet potato chips for a late breakfast.

Bought a Holden panel van after work today. HobbyCo, B.F special.
Nice how it has triple SU's in the kit. Falcon kits are next.

Installing a Mountune induction elbow and then loading the Dreamscience 99+ tune taking power and torque in my Fiesta ST Mk 8 to over 240 hp and north of 370 nm.
The OEM tune lag down low, torque bump going into a wheezy top end has been transformed. The initial lag is gone, smoother thicker torque pull, and builds into nice power at top, so much so I ran it into rev limiter a few times. Much more natural snaps from exhaust and turbo induction whistles, and the pull in 3rd gear and add on speed (of the realm you would expect with high powered worked v8s or high powered turbo 6's) means a re-calibration of driver control is needed. Has turned fun yappy puppy dog into a nasty little pit spitty bull. Very happy with the result- money well spent. Got the files e-mailed from UK last night at 10.30 pm, I had left the SCT handset at work- wife was very suspicious why I had to suddenly leave home last night at 10.30 pm..... Growing old disgracefully...

That’s a 2019 auction result, too.
I remember my father talking about all the surplus sold off cheaply post-war in NZ, a lot of people got a good bike out of it. |

I'm into mountain bike suspension technology. Interesting how the rear suspension works, the seat looks cantilevered off the front mount and slides on the mudguard top mount pivots ? Beaut model.

Along with numerous others, I remember in high school being extremely jealous of the rich kid in my class who had a Cannondale. Was a stunning piece of machinery. Maybe I should just go and buy one now!

My first C'dale was a Beast of the East in 1992 and lusted after the newly introduced Super V. I finally bought a 2 week old (the Viper Red one) in 1995, it was a Missy Giove team issue copy. (remember her) We were in the proceed of building our first boat and money was tight, after months of looking for the right bike, we found this guy selling his new one due to a bad injury he had on another bike. It's funny how fortune works, I had saved up the money to buy a secondhand marine diesel engine and convinced my partner that somehow buying a flash Cannondale was a better idea. Bought it with the diesel money and a week later one of our great neighbours at the time wanted to get rid of his rusted Ford Econovan. Low mileage diesel engine of the same capacity we needed. Grab it out of the van, marinised it, rolled it down the wharf and installed it within another week. Sold the rest for $500 and split it with him. I kid you not, 3 weeks later another Super V (the carbon swingarm Speed Yellow one) was released new in Parramatta bike shop. My partner sold off her silver Jewellery and bought it. We finished the boat, motorsailed off and lived happily ever after, sort of. and have been collecting everyone Super V I find since. The elusive gen 2 Thermoplastic Super V Raven I have yet to buy (at the right price)

Not being admitted to hospital overnight.
Pi$$ing blood all afternoon. Blood clots preventing me from urinating, causing a dam. You know what it's like, absolutely busting times 10. Spent 6 ours in ED, finally the banks burst, what a relief. Otherwise they were going to admit me, catheter and a kidney flush. No freaking way. Normal colour this morning, no more blood, but have to go back for more test to see why my kidney was bleeding. Suspect is stones caused a laceration or a pollop has burst. I've had enough of hospitals to last a life time, so one less admission is a bonus. So yes, feel good today.

…Seeing an original “patina” mid green metallic XW that disappeared from its usual street parking during roadworks a while back, has finally returned in the same condition as before. I was worried the owner had been talked out of keeping it.

Back at home after a day in the local A&E.
Nothing major, just some messy lesions around my eyes/eyelids that have grown alarmingly in a few days. Each eye flushed with SIX litres of saline solution (they realised I was halfway competent and had to DIY ), and lots of waiting… Eventually discharged after a genuinely positive conversation with one of the ED specialists; treated like a person who wanted to recover fully - not someone hogging a bay. It’s good to find a few of the old guard are hanging in there. |

29th November. National day of failed Yugoslavia. Fond memories in the 1980s demonstrating against the Yugoslavs every year.
