i have had my p's for a year and a bit and in the last couple of months i have had two fines and am one point away from losing my license. They were both in basically the same spot from a contracted camera on the street my boyfriend lived on. but i don't regulary speed or mean to i just slip up ocassionally - i otherwise drive like a grandma.

Never had one in 10 years of driving. And I dont drive like a granny, I just dont go overboard and do 90 in 60 zones and stuff.

Now driving on the wrong side of the road in an unregistered car, thats a different story lol.

Yeah that's alright as long as you don't exceed the speed limit while you're at it.

No, I was well under the speed limit. I was delivering newspapers back in my P-plater days. My own stupid fault for driving the car, it was the first and only time I have ever driven an unregestered car, but the cops usually let the delivery guys off with the driving offences (within reason) while working. This is at 4 in the morning.

After this my route was changed a bit so there was less of that sort of stuff. But the 500 buck fine pretty much took the next 6 weeks or so wages.

My last one was about 4-5 years ago.
I have slowed myself down behind the wheel ... plus .... how can you speed in bumper to bumper stopped traffic in Sydney.

I do usually drive a few kays over the speed limit ... but that's just me.
i am surprised that so many people near where I live have been ignoring the 60km/h road work speed limits and do 80km/h ..... and it's still double demerits till midnight Jan 2.

Not worth even going a few kays over ... here in NSW it's 3 points for up to 15km/h over ... so double that and you get instant suspension. It really isn't worth speeding.

0 for 22 ... I pay enough taxes. I think of it in the same way as the government, it's a revenue issue

I've had two in the six years I've been driving. Well technically three, but I got off the 3rd one.

zilch in 28 years. Like many, I don't drive like a grandpa but according to conditions.
I had a cop up my tail last night in an area where nearly everyone speeds. The zone goes from 60 to 80 (and a speed camera) up a hill to a short 70 at the crest then 110 down the other side of the hill. Many don't drop back at the 70 but someohow I just "knew".

Since I bought the EB5L I had in 98' Ive had one fine for 10k over but no points on a speed camera then in SA if it was your car. It was about 20m before a 70 sign :

And I travel around 250k a year (truckie(law abiding I swear _2: ))

Between 1989 when I got my scooter licence (16 in wa) and 95 It took me a further 2 1/2yrs to get of my P's : Many a fine and court apperances as a young fella.

If I could go back now I would give myself a right flogging for some of the shyte I got busted for and another couple for the stuff I didnt get cought doing.

I've had my fair share. I didn't realise the damn freeway etag toll overhangs in Melbourne have cameras too. The were nice enought to inform me via mail of this fact....twice :(

The small black multanova tripod cameras are the worst (in WA). You just can't see them......only the bright yellow sign 100m up the road which says "thankyou for driving within the limits".

OR....you can just drive within the limit!

Years ago I did silly things that I look back on and cringe. These days I too prefer not to contribute to the states revenue schemes.

i got my first fine few months ago.had licence since march. 12km over. lost 3 points. it really hurts when you only have 5 points on P's :|
i get real paranoid when driving now. especially if a dark, late model falcon/commodore follows me.

was a 80 zone and i came out of the BP and down the hill doing 15kmh over

the other was in country nsw when my speedo broke and i was following a mate and i got nabbed for doing 80 in a 60 zone (i wasnt happy as i just bought the car and the speedo broke leaving me to drive it 40klms back home guessing the speed) that was 8-9 years ago

i probably average one a year. being in the truck up to 12 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week i think i do ok. i got 2 in 15 minutes a couple of years ago, in the old hilux got stopped just before traralgon (110 zone) doing 127. had just put 33" mud tyres on it and speedo showed 118, he fined me for 125. then the other side of traralgon i got done by one coming towards me with a roof mount radar for 120. i never went over 95 on that speedo after that. both fines were 3 points and i think from memory they were around $225 each.

2 fines in 15 years. Got off the first and copped double demerits on the second which was 5 years ago on a empty freeway.

1 fine in 10 years for 8km/h over...Pretty good given that I never do the limit, but I also never exceed it by that much either.
