There’s no need for the 2.0 models to have anything more than say, a $2,500 price increase,
the V6 could be a premium, maybe $6,000…..something that makes buyers go faark but still pay…….

I hope you're wrong because current models are not really being discounted as used to happen sometimes pre-covid /pre-semi-conductor shortages when outgoing models are discounted making a new models new pricing increase seem excessive.

Mind you many manufactures have taken the opportunity to have 2 or 3 price increases within 12 months including some Chinese brands.

The idea is to encourage people to buy your vehicles, not call an ambulance when they see the price…

Looks mad. I agree with everyone else about the current one not having a great looking rear end.
This with a V6 diesel would be a great thing. Class leading is how I’d put it.

I must be the only person in the world that actually like the rear styling of the current Everest!

That said, the new one does look better.......

Absolutely, keeping in mind that it’s the same segment as Prado and
Fortuner with Toyota’s chug chug 2.8 I-4 diesel…

Sure, the competition will respond but maybe “the new fox” Everest
has time to raid the hen house and pinch a ton more sales……

I'm not a fan of the current rear styling...and I have one on order.
I don't mind the new rear styling....but I 'm not a fan of the new Front styling.

I keep thinking VW Tiguan when I see these rear Everest shots which IMHO is a good thing as I prefer the more angular look of the Tig over say an Escape....I know the Ford will tower over it size-wise.

Does anyone know the timing?

Are there likely to be runout deals on the outgoing model, or is supply too short for that? What happened when the new Ranger landed last year?

I doubt there will be any run out deals. Seems all manufacturers are selling at full retail atm

I don't think dealers have got enough stock to be offering any run out deals anyway..

Everest reveal is tomorrow night and hopefully we see a lot more on interior upgrades and internal dimensions,
so good to see Ranger and Everest product launches timed close to each other, I recon Ford is in with a chance
of seeing a big increase in sales for both later this year.

The Prado loses it's 5 star safety rating at the end of the year, which might also help sell more Everest's.

A lot of those Hilux and Prado sales go to mine fleets and gas suppliers like Origin, QGC and Santos.
Without 5 Star rating, supply of Prado becomes a non-conforming quote like Hilux was for a time.
That was the the little opening Ford needed for Ranger, maybe Everest now gets a shot too…

Yeah they sell heaps of these to fleets, especially in Queensland, NT and WA. Most companies have a 5 star only vehicle policy, so it will be interesting to see if that is enforced.

there's going to be a lot of products that fall at that hurdle. As soon as new NCAP procedures are launched, it causes chaos. Any products that can grandfather will have a brief window where they 'seem' to outclass the opposition. New products like next gen ranger and everest have to comply to the new requirements from launch. fortunately Ford have been able to make these new cars comply.

People don't seem to get that a new 3 star car is still safer than an old 5 star car. Remember when Mustang launched as 2 star?

That's the problem with the rating system used by ANCAP. The goal posts are continually moving which make it hard for the consumer to understand.

They chose to make the ratings tougher than add a sixth or seventh star.
