Here is one in victoria.
180k 2012 eco lpi - $10,493 (asking). I'm betting $9500 to $10,000 drive away. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/de...12775979/?Cr=1

The OP did say his budget was around 14k. Just thinking that a car with 200,000km may need wear and tear items replaced sooner than one with 100,000km. The minor saving up front, may not end up being a saving in the long term.

I can't imagine that anyone would buy the higher km car over the lower km car given similar condition if the one with more km was only $500 to $1000 cheaper. I would be willing to hear from anyone if the deal i got on any of my cars wasn't good, so next time i could try for a better deal. Nothing bad intended towards the OP

I'd also wager a very decent amount of money that the big LPG 6 will get many many more kilometers out of it than the turbo 4. |

It was an ex council car. Full service history. It was actually a car the dealers were bidding on. Unlike some G6's at $15k that didn't have a bid. Body is neat. Rather a full service history with 200k than uncared for with 120k?
Initially my budget of $14k was for a 2012-2013 G6 with 50,000km. Then on top it needs rego and rwc etc. So it'll add up quick. We are talking a Barra engine. Didn't know km's was an issue. It's done now already brought it! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk |

I'm betting there are plenty of examples around the world of the Turbo 4 getting around with more than 200,000.km on them. Also betting there are loads more ecoboost 4's around the world on the road than there ever were Falcon Straight 6's Its used in... 2010– Ford Mondeo[ 2011–2015 Ford Explorer 2011–2014 Ford Edge 2011– Land Rover Range Rover Evoque[ 2011– Ford S-MAX 2012– Ford Falcon 2013– Ford Escape / Kuga 2013–2015 Land Rover Freelander 2 2013– Ford Fusion 2013– Ford Taurus 2015 Jaguar XE 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015– Lincoln MKC

There is more to selecting a car to buy than just looking at the ads, kms and price.
Second hand cars are all different to each other. Even cars of the same model built next to each other on the assembly line , and done the same kms. They get treated differently during their lives. If you purchase a car you like for a couple of thousand more, so be it, who cares. You have got the car you wanted, not a car that you don't like as much just because it was cheaper. It would be good if the OP was allowed to show his new car here without the constant mocking and bragging. Congratulations to falconaussiebf with his Eco lpi purchase. |

Probably there is 200km+ EB4 engines around the world. But for the I6 to get 500km before major trouble starts is an average effort. Of course we all know that a more widely used engine definitely means its better. And Gee, a 4 cylinder Range Rover or Jag would be fun! End of the day, you could put the EB4 Falcon up against the EcoLpi and it will be better in almost every aspect. |

JEZUS I'm glad I never mention the new cars I have bought on this Forum,
with all the smart "NUFF NUTS" opinions and criticisms after the event. Good on you with your decisions, great car. |

Still looks in good nick. With a good detailing she'll look like new.
My 2009 G6E gets plenty of comments on what a nice car it is. Mine has over 300k on it and engine runs fine. Problems so far have been mostly small niggles, with the most expensive being the rear bushes. It might not have the colour screen, but you at least have bluetooth streaming, which I wish I had! |

some of the Baggers and braggers in this forum should get a life, the poster didn't ask for your attitude just some help in service work he wants to do, the Eco lpi Falcons are awesome, all that I would do to the car is throw a set of shocks at it, amazed you will be.

Yeah I didn't come here for a price check. I checked out the buy it now auction EcoLPI and yes it had less km, also was missing a key and had a dash light warning. Looked like engine management. Reality is dealers were bidding on my car. Generally speaking they do not overpay the market?
I just sold my old BF falcon '07 with 170,000km for $5200 rego running out in 3 weeks. So sometimes you win some and you lose some. I think I did ok, I did well, sold it in 3 days. Could of probably got a few hundred more or maybe $1000. No point holding it imo. Can't even compare the two cars. Feels like the BF is 15 years older than the FGmk2 |

Got plenty of hobbies. If the post above mine wants to make personal comments about my car choice, then i'm happy to reply!
This is an open public forum, if someone posts on here, then expect to get a response that some may or may not like. I'm not and have not taken any personal shots at the OP or his selection of vehicle. (unlike some comments about my choice of ecoboost) Just commenting on my findings regarding price since spending the last 6 months trawling pickles for my own daily driver. I'm being realistic and factual, not insulting or vindictive which seem the be the standard response on here when someone comments against the norm. Well done OP, you got a red hot deal, can't be beat, have a pat on the back. Is that what you all prefer to hear? Seems like it. I've been around here long enough to see it all. I commented on the price the OP got, nothing else. Some of you don't like it, well everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. If anyone is afraid of getting "Rain on their parade", then may be don't post online.
