I distinctly thought it was called a Prince Skyline GTR but 2 minutes on Google and I see it was a Prince Skyline GTB that I remember from the late 60's.

i also like some of the older Japanese cars. Particularly the early Celicas and first Corollas (2 door). The RX3s are unbelievably quick and the RX5 is a great looking car as well. There is a gold Mazda kicking around Perth with number plates 'ZZOOMM' or similar. I think it was teh Mazda 1500 but not sure. Very few of them left and this example is stunning. very tasteful outside...nice wheels, clean paint and low.

i also fancied the Mitsubishi Scorpion and Starion from the 80's. Great looking cars IMO.

I remember going to look at an interesting little vehicle while in the UK a few years ago. Would be around 12-15 years old now, was based on a 1L Nissan Micra and had a turbo engine, auto box and full white leather interior as well as full electrics.

The styling was retro... it had 2 doors and looked like something from the 60's.....

I know there are a few in OZ... I couldn't import one caus I was told you needed to own it for a year over there prior to importing it.

Nissan ????????? ok time for google....

hahaha yeh not just the Datto's anything old and Japanese, thanks to my brother and his friends :

Now for what has to be in my mind an absolute sleeper in the Jap world and possibly one of the rarest cars from that country, the Datsun Fairlady Z432R, 240Z with a GTR motor that had been worked even more full suspension and weighed something like 200kg less than a GTR thanks to a lighter front end and lighter steel wheels, it would have been leathal back in the 70's considering it was pushing out over 120kw had drum brakes and weighed under 1000Kg!

Yeah they dont need much to look good, just clean and low with some go :evil3:

I remember the Scorpion aswell, had a mate who's friend had one when I was 10ish I think. I thought it was the coolest thing with the scorpion logo..LOL

That would be a Century, couldnt answer the other things though, i suggest looking through some Jap toyota forums - hopefully they're in english and see what you can find out. usally modified to be jap style lowriders (Ie VIP style)

Yeah they are Century's. Pretty sure they have body on frame as the Crowns did until only very recently.

There are quite a few in Australia, there was a 1968-1997 model and then a post 1997 model which looks exactly the same. The older ones had a pushrod v8 which was around 4l. There are a few in Australia, most are 1980s ones brought under the old import rules, whilst the others are personal imports from Jap businessman.

FC RX7s, 80s Supras, R31 coupes (or a decent looking S3 4 door), all 80s hotness.

There's an awesome old Corolla on youtube, I think the rego is OKE-020, a little KE70(?) with a turbo 2JZ + powerglide combo.

Had a carshow at work a few days ago and there was a late 70's Corolla with an LS1 in it. Crazy how easily the engine seemed to fit in the bay. Bar the fat rubber on the back it was a total sleeper.

I've looked at all three pages of this thread and theres not one Japanese vehicle posted that I would aspire to owning. In fact if someone offered me a 1968 Mustang I'd take that over all the cars together illustrated herein.

You lot must be going soft - most of the stuff you are going "gaga" about is absolute rubbish! The early Japanese cars had suspensions designed to keep the body off the ground and not much else!

American Iron from the 50s, 60s and 70 s is much much more desirable.

Funny how as far as the current cars are concerned the tables are reversed!

fair enough.. although mine were my first cars and they were cheap and reliable so they suited me perfectly..

I'd say a lot of guys would be in the same boat.. something they owned for their first car and fell "in love" with..

hmm,my silvia had Irs from the factory in 1984,pretty much identical to holdens irs design made 6 yrs later.and the r200 diff is the same size as the holden had too,but with clutch type design.There is one in qld that does nines with near std internals and head.

And the early muscle cars had a motor and that was it!
