umm here's the pics i was supposed to upload about 3 days ago :

You can see the two extra injectors just jammed in the inlet pipe...it's all kinda backyard styles at the moment just to see if it works. We'll neaten it up and mount them properly later.

I've just finished building a Wideband Air/Fuel meter which we are going to hook up to Dan's laptop and run a tuning program that will allow you to see the true a/f ratio in real time as well as log data such as RPM vs A/F. This will let us see where the car is running rich or lean and we can adjust the microfueller to suit. I've also got a Jaycar Digital Fuel Controller that lets you modify the MAP sensor signal to change the amount of fuel the injectors fire. Sunny has put in some 24lp Bosch blue tops so with them and the microfueller I reckon we can have this thing going way more sideways after the weekend.

Lookout Dan this thing will be right on ur *** :

Yeah Mt. Franklin bottle is there to stop oil from spewin all over the strut tower, but it was too late lol. You can see it plastered everywhere.

It goes way better with the exhaust, now all it needs is fuel to match the boost and it'll be sweet. Goes good when you got 1/2 throttle happening, anything over and it leans out and pings it's nuts off.

I raced Doug tonight. I got a half car or full car head start, foot half way down (getting about 3PSI) with manual gear shifting because I have no kickdown. I don't know how but I beat him lol!

It's looking quite good! Besides Daniel stooging me on the cooler :@

Yeah it's a bit of a mess, but I have to stress it's all R&D styles atm. We have to keep fitting, removing, fiddling with stuff to see what works better, so there's no point making it look pretty.

I bought new fuel hose and stuff so it I can change it when it's all working to get rid of the multicolored crap, I plan on changing the coolant reserve and give it all a good clean up/neaten up when it's running decently. So chilax guys.

If its leanig out not its good! That means it needs more fuel to make up for the increase in power! I like it!

that cooler might still be yours sunny, This other dude is stil unsure if he wants it or not.

yeah had a ride tonight....the exhaust makes heaps of difference. the car boosted to 8psi tonight but like sunny said it was leaning out hard. 1/2 throttle definately gives better acceleration. The guys did a good job on the exhaust, dump tip tucked nicely under the bar, not sticking out like many others do. Sounds nice too. The car rips standstills easy now....

Be really careful if you think its leaning out. Cast pistons wont take much of a lean out before they melt.

Where did you get the exhaust done Sunny? I can't believe how quickly this car is coming together. It seems like yesterday that it was your Mum's white, straight gas cfi beast.

Apart from that, good to see the car running, but where's the skids? :P

Ace Exhaust in Croydon. It was $450 with a 3.5" chrome dump tip, thanks to Dan giving me his old cat I saved around $200, but it's a little low. I might have to get them to jack it up a bit.

Yeah they seem alright there, the only thing I could find wrong with them is that the guy out the front speaks funny lol.

Why didn't you get the EL done there?

I was more impressed with the guy at Exhaust Fix and the Commodore exhaust drones quite bad. Although that's probably more to do with it being a 6.

Bump.

I need a intercooler. The car runs great when you first start it and take it for a fang, but as it heats up you get major pingage. I managed to keep up with Ash's EL Ghia V8 on Sunday, but as the revs increased it started to ping badly.

Any attempts to make it stop pining with an unintercooled 10PSI flowing through the motor have proved fruitless. We retarded the timing a bit yesterday but that made it run like crap off boost. Also put Bosch blue top injectors in, which needed more fuel pressure to work correctly and even then the idle was pretty marginal. The only thing to do if keeping it non-intercooled would be to drop it to around 4 or 5 PSI...pffttttttttt.

We also fitted a Jaycar DFA that Doug made, running it through the TPS (I think). It works quite well, but we could only tune it by ear without a wideband 02 sensor or a dyno.

So I'm on the market for an intercooler. Gilly found some guy on NissanSilvia.com.au or whatever who is selling 450x300 cheap cheap, but they are still too long unless installed with the outlets facing the bitumen, even then the bonnet latch will need modification and when the piping is installed the bar may need to be cut.

Only option I can think of at the moment is to do a Dan and get a 600x300x76 cooler and chop about 10cm off it. That would fit nicely but it would cost anything up to $700.

Can anyone recommend a standard size, readily available cooler that will fit with little modification?

Soz for the long post I'm bored.

Can a large tranny cooler do the job, if used as an intercooler instead? It's basically the same idea isn't it? That's just off the top of my head :

Yep, with 5 people in the car dead cold, it hammered.

Should be absolutely nuts once you get it intercooled and tuned. :sm_headba

only prob is that it's made for liquid, not air....flow would be almost non existant in one of those things with their tiny inlets and outlets.

I can vouch for this car going well in it's current state of tune. It was pulling pretty bloody hard with five people in it. It will be mad with a cooler and tune. I'll have to stop racing you soon ;)
