The bodywork looks different significantly but will the ugly square taillight and squinty eyed regular 4cyl camry bodywork fit on an aurion to make it an anonymous sleeper? Suspension work, steelies and hubcaps and in white or beige and it would be the perfect getaway car

I agree it's significantly different, that doesn't make it good though :P
Toyota have only ever made a few good looking cars. Their sedans are not among the list.

MY N/A XR6 had it all over a supercharged aurion at Willowbank raceway.. nice to look at but i would hate to be driving it..

Don't underestimate that scv6 it pulls hard and revs hard (at least in the form I drive it).
Anything over 2.5k rpm and it's going strong. Get to 5.5k and it's screaming with almost another 2k left on the limiter. This engine really loves to rev too. Having said that fwd+toyota style is just all sorts of wrong.

We have one.
I have driven many BA and BF turbos and owned a BA XR8, BA GT, BF SP and BF F6 6 speed auto. Being FWD the TRD is difficult to get off the line, it takes some finesse and not just mashing the pedal. The RWD XR6T and F6 are faster off the line but the TRD is no slouch. Rolling acceleration the TRD is a stunner, it flies. Yes it has torque steer but it is not a lane jumper like some make out. In the corners, it rewards a smooth driver with fast predictable handling and in my well experienced opinion (because I have actually owned these cars and not just read reviews or taken one for a quick spin) is much easier and faster through the corners than both my XR8 and GT. I will give the win to the XR6T and F6 for corners but the TRD is still good. Interior, hands down to the TRD. Ours now has over 100,000km on it and the dash doesn't rattle, the side bolsters have not collapsed and the doors still close nicely. By the way the front suspension hasn't fallen apart yet and there are no issue with driveline clunks and diff's falling out either. By the way the blower whine is fun. So my list of car preferences. The BF F6 is first, the quickest of them all. Then a tie between the TRD and the GT, TRD is nicer to live with, has less problems (none) which the GT had many (timing chain adjusters, diff bush, speakers, seats collapsing, auto failed, O2 sensors failed etc) and is cheaper to run. Performance there would not be much in it as they are both low 14 second cars with a tendency to understeer through corners when pushed hard. The GT gets extra points for the sound. The BA XR8 is in last place.

Production of the TRD ceased in 2009, there is no such thing as a new TRD.

i had a trd hilux bit off topic, jesus the thing sounded like turning a ice crusher on every time the super charger kicked in . didn't last long in the garage.

The XR6 eats Camrys for breakfast.
And the TRD is what comes out a few hours later. Also makes me wonder, if you're going to choose 3 random letters to affix to a car, WHY choose ones that, if pronounced phonetically, spell TERD?

Don't start with the 'pronounced phonetically'.
I've seen GTs getting around with number plates that are 'FGT 13' etc. I know it stands for Ford or FPV GT, but what does it sound like when you pronounce the 'FGT' bit phonetically? |
