I actually reckon my nana could knit me a patchwork dash mat :hihi: hahaha - she could make them in footy colours and sell them outside voting booths

I've a velour one on the EA, it hides the many gaping cracks in the dash and makes it look better. My ol man's EF Fairmont doesn't need them though, all still smooth and shiny.

nobody said you were retarded.

your dash will look great im sure but what youll find is gradually you will need more and more armorall more often to keep it looking that way.

Dashmatts get the thumbs up ;) it makes your car feel like a pimp mobile, all that Plush carpet *shrugs* lol

i'm just not going to clean the dash with any thing,i'm confused?

Quote:
Yea I would advise not to use armorall on ya dash. Its like licking your lips in cold dry winds, It may feel wet for a few mins but after an hour your lips dry up and start cracking. Hella sore. Also even after washing the dash, Vinyl paint won't "stick" the the dash for very long if Armourall has been used in the last 6 months.

Quote:
no thats not right
everyones entitled to an opinion and i read and respect what every ones got to say
but...i haven't seen any one say...don't use amourall as it ed up my dash when on the other i use it on every plastic panel every week i vacuum my car....the dash espcially loves it lol...i mean during the week when a bit of dust has settled all i do is wipe it off and i got a shiny smooth dash again

If u dont have cracks take it off put it in the fire and silicone spray ur whole dash lol or 3m vynyl protectant.
Cant get over how bad bash mats are
Why dont i just go and put:
1. Mudflaps
2.Rear louvre
3. Stonegard
4. Car bra
5. Door strips
6. driver & passenger windshields
while im at it???????????

You forgot the floor mats, or are they cool as they protect the original carpet from holes / mud and stones?

I've always used dash mats. Nothing wrong them. They do nothing other than protect the dash and your eyes from the glare. Top idea.

Our EL is the first car I've ever had problems with the dash reflecting in the windscreen in the sun.

Dash mat fixed that. I don't think they look 'nanna'ish or anything - at least it's not a hat on the rear parcel shelf!!!

Anyway, the colour matches the dash colour, so you don't notice it at first glance.

You're only a Nan/Pop if you have a) the crocheted blanket on the back seat and b) the obligatory hat on the rear parcel shelf (covering the speakers you never use or listen to John Laws through).

I have a mat on the EA, I prefer the look of it over the glare and cracks in the dash. It came with the mat, and I dgaf what it looks like. It works well.

Like the person told me to lose the granny louvre on the back windscreen. F that, it keeps a heap of heat off the speakers and the kids. Nobody notices but inside that rear window is also a stick-on screen... it's like tint but looks like a screen door. Keeps even more heat out, hence the AC doesn't work overtime. For $5 a roll from Kmart (I bought the final 3 rolls a couple of years ago), it's a baaaaaaaaaaaargain.

I did get rid of the granny wind deflectors on the driver's side door. They stop you getting your drivethru in the window (when I used to eat the stuff that is!) :

Dashmat. When I got the car, I thought it had to go, but drove it for a week, and the lack of glare won me over. Also the dash is mint underneath it, and it hides the wiring for my GPS receiver.

Dash mat = covers unsightly cracks, and stops the glare/heat

The only dash mats I don't like are the old faded ones that go all floppy around the edges.

Love my dash mat! :
