No doubt , this is a tragedy for the family......but , if its drug related , 95% of the population wont give a about this dude. Its well known in the footy circle about the rumours surrounding the eagles of the early nineties. Unfortunately , mud sticks. And he was a big part of those rumours. When it comes to drugs , ignorance is no excuse for stupidity. THE only ones people should feel sorry for are the kids.

Sad....oh so sad. The circumstances mean that his wife n kids will live on with salt being poured into their wounds for ever more.

Big wake up call for cousins and anyone else who is dabbling with stuff they shouldn't in that club....or anyone else for that matter.

I doubt suicide (he was callnig people for help) but perhaps a combination of stuff in his system plus a whole lot of stress caused his heart to fail (as is the latest reports)

This thread has lost its way...

Mental health is something that should be taken very seriously.., this is a tragedy for all concerned, now isnt the time for speculation or slander, i think everyone should show a bit more respect and restraint, at the very least till the facts come out, he's been laid to rest and his friends and family have had time to grieve and come to terms with this....

Look at all the eagle supporters come out......

No, you are right, Kerr.... he's just missunderstood, Cousins..... just a bit of a party boy.
Damn that media.... picking on them.

As someone once siad to me.... only good people die.
150 poeple die in a plane crash, all are good people, you never hear about the a$$holes or jerks. 1 in 10 poeple are jerks.... so there should have been at least 15 on the plane.

You put someone in front of a camera, after an event like this... and of course we will only hear the good.

My wife was unlucky enough to work in a place he often visited to eat. From the stories I've heard, a kind person he was not. (sometimes)

Now, back to the death of a great East Freo player.

Sad news it is, but knowing his past "run-ins" with the law, (drink driving and drug related). He was no angel.

I only hope that the kids aged 8 to 18 learn something from his death. (if it is found to be drug related)
Maybe as someone else has said.... it might teach/show a few AFL/NRL players the light too.

RIP to a once top player. Despite how he died, he should be remembered for his contribution to the team.

Bigsamzef - good points well made.

It all blew up in your faces when jacon fukheadmanis came out accusing brauny of being a drug cheat, whick turned out to be false and when Dylan Howard came out saying that a number victorian players were taking drugs, nobody wanted to hear it. funny that isnt it?
Totally different situation. The media wanted to print who was using drugs in Vic, but because the information was taken from stolen medical records they couldn't because its against the law to use people's private confidential information. Channel 7 was prepared to do it if they could legally. They tried to get it through the courts but it was declined. Its different to Cousins who admitted what he was doing.

Absolutely right!! Especially as it seems depression was probably the trigger for it all.

Fafuxsakes, the man is DEAD, leave him in peace.
